Not worth rushing it to come down for lunch, dont want it to catch fire in Morocco! I cna tell you all about fires caused by rushed wiring. :flame:

Why doesent it drive? At a guess id say because its wiring is in bits!

Yea and missing dashboard and panels, need to finish off wiring before putting it all back - just sent you Ray's number - he just left here - he dropped off my Auxiliary tank (last piece of my kit)

Im not doing all that befor the weekend! Im ready to roll tomorrow if thats good with you, i take it you wanted to leave afternoon/evening, the earliest i can leave is probaly about 3pm. The problem is if we leave saturday and come back sunday, then we will spend the whole weekend on the tarmack. Wanted to go to a site friaday night and wild camp saturday night, but soon as were not all going to be there then theres not so much point. Did you hear back from your camps site? If not ill phone up the tourist board and ask them, we definitly need to book friday night befor we leave.

Did you say it was near manchester you were stopping off? If you know about how long you will be there for then i can meet you there as your leaving, or if your Hilux is as much "fun" as my landy we can do the whole trip and ill wait while you stop, go get a burger king and have a sleep. :D Or can just meet you up there, ill do whatever fits best with your stop off. Ill phone you at some point in the morning hopfully.

It's all been done properly, that's why it's taking so fooking long  I need to get some big tarmac miles on the speedo, so that's why if I can, lunch in the lakes would be a great idea :D

There is space for a couple of small tents at this site Grizedale Camping Site | Grizedale Riding Centre - Home (in the woods) £6 per person for the night. I told Arthur there will be 2 x 4x4 and we will be arriving after dark. Booking is not required but if we don't want to go there, ill would like to let him know.
The address:
Grizedale Campsite & Riding Centre
Bowkerstead Farm,
Satterthwaite,
Ulverston

I will try aim for the same leaving time as you (3pm) but we will talk before then.

I need to stop in at my folks and drop of a couple of things shouldn't be to long. She is in Leigh, just off the A580, off J23 M6.

But not quite.....

Good to see its coming along, we are running out of time!

The shake down trip was sucsessful for Ray and I, i bent a wheel rim and Ray bent his new gear box cooler and shiney bumper, but that was the worst of it. The Jeep on the other hand suffered a blowen up engine, and is a wright off.

The scenery was very nice, we even encountered some snow patches on the mountains. My shelfes are very good, and i have loads of space for all my stuff. The spare wheel on the bonnet is an absalute fail, fine for the road but you cant see anything when off roading, you are driving blind.

Yea I know, I'm off to Kris'es shortly to try and finish off the wiring.

Then tomorrow it's off to Dunsfold, the only way to get things done properly in the time available is too call in the big guns, and haul out my wallet......

Actually I could use some help tomorrow, best I phone :p:p

Did you get your trailer Ray? Hows the Hilux doing after we traumotised it with land rover standard off road? :D

Ray's got his trailer, sounds a bit dodgy :p

Give us continual updates on the jeep engine rebuild, it should keep us entertained :D

Well, its a basterd of an engine to have appart. Got most the stuff off it now except the injectors which are providing a fight, then i can lift the heads off. Of the 23 nuts houlding on the exhaust and inlet manufolds, i have managed to get 22 off, the last is impossible, so the manufolds both have to stay on the heads till there all out! (the inlet wont come off till the exhaust is off)

Its in bits, 2 of the heads are cracked, one is suspicous and one is new. The cylinder liners are melted abit above the piston travel on 1 and 3.

I thought you had to change all four if any 1 of then was damaged

Yu do with the J**P engine and that's the same engine int it??

Its in a Jeep, but you dont need to change all four. I read on that sight it also goes in a RR, first ive heard of it.

So they put this ****e in the RR too?!? It pulls well but its a bitch to work on, and evidently it brakes.
