Had my freelander about 2 months now, after a disaster with a Mazda Tribute (Heap of Sh%^E).
The TD4 been great so far. Makes a great towing wagon. I have already had all the stick and wallet jokes, just hope they are a bit of a myth though?
I am about to get new tyres, as the current are a mismash and one is particularly worn.
Just to put my mind at ease can any one tell me if I have an incorrect set of alloys on (TD4 S; 2005 on an 05 plate)? It has 195/80/R15 96S, but when I do a search on all the tyre suppliers using the registration search they all give me the following 3 options, but no options on the size on the car already:
Front and rear: 215/65T16
Front and rear: 225/55H17
Front and rear: 235/50H18
As I would like to put 4 new tyres on is it worth looking at these larger alloys, as mine do look a bit skinny. Is there anything else I would need to change or will these sizes fit directly, without need for spacers etc?
Failing that, can I fit a wider tyre than 195 on the existing rims? have asked a few local dealers, but they think a bigger set of new allows would be better, to be honest I think they are just touting for business.
Hope this makes sense to someone, as it is confusing the hell out of me
