Hi Gang!

To cut a long story short, I want to remove the radio in my 2002 Freeloader. Its the type with the two allen key bolts holding it in. I've undone the two allen key bolts until they were loose and pull out the stereo.. however only one side is free. The other side seems like the mechanism that the allen key was supposed to unwind hasn't done so.
Apart from ripping the centre console to shreds does anyone know how this mechanism works? Replies from car radio thieves accepted :)

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Im sure those allen bolts just block off the holes, they have no fixing it to the console powers.

I usually put my fingers in the cassette player to help pull it out and 2 thin flat blade screw drivers in the 2 holes and lever them away from the radio while pulling from cassette inserted fingers.

Darn, I think one of the allen bolts has snapped in half, hence the head is loose but the 'barrel' is still in place.. Could get messy this. Now where did I put my drill ?

Just for reference.. here is a link to someone doing it successfully :)

Hmmmm in that video after removing the bolts he just pulled the radio out??? Maybe its different to mine? I have no allen bolts, I just put a screw driver in`t holes like so and push the clips towards the radio....

Yeah, there are two types. One with 4 holes and the other with two. Mine being the latter.

Thanks for posting the pics BTW.
