Rookie mistake no 2!

I wouldn't have even told the wife......

Then again that probably why she hates me

My first thought was same as yours but then I thought he's obviously under the thumb if he has to clear it , so advice give for that situation

Others know of how I came into L322 Ownership - was a chance meeting as I passed the car sales place and had to do a double take....

Anywho, here is how the conversation went on the phone with the girlfriend, once I parked up at the sales place....

Me: Hey you, you alright?
Her: Good ta, hows your day? you on the way home?
Me: Yeah, almost home now....listen, just stopped off in the village down the road...
Her: Yeah...?
Me: Yeah, you know that car place on the corner by that Antique shop on the little river bit that runs through by the Riding shop?
Her: I think I know where this is going but OK....what about it?
Me: Well I have just passed by and there's an L322 on gas for sale, reasonable price...
Her: Whats a reasonable price?
Me: Well I'm sure we can cut a deal on it..
Her: Whats the Price Anthony?
Me: Well on the ticket is £7.5k
Her: That ain't bad for a L322 and on gas too....
Me: Thats what I thought, so I have just popped in.
Her: oh ****...right, OK and..??
Me: Well I have just got here, didn't wanna go and take a look then fall in love without telling you first...
Her: More than you did with your current Range Rover, you just bought it and Part Ex'd my car for it ..but thats by the by...
Me: Yeah I know, but listen, if I take it for a drive and it checks out, what do you reckon?
Her: Well if you get the right price and it's all good, go for it.
Me: ehh?
Her: Go for it...
Me: Don't f**k with me woman, cos I will you know...
Her: I know...if it checks out and you can do the figures, go for it...
Me: Really? Honestly, don't f**k with me cos I will buy it...
Her: Yeah I know, but you were after one before your DSE, but none where about...
Me: Dont't f**k with me...
Her: Just buy it

And now its mine....

Our conversations tend to go

Her: I really do love MY car it's great, loads of room, nice to drive
Me: it's my car
Her: but you never drive it so technically it's my car
Me: I bought it, you didn't want it, it's my car
Her: yea but you did buy it, so I had to get used to it now its my car
Me: ok whatever

A few days later
Her: YOUR ####ING CARS BROKEN AGAIN
Me: it's your car you fix it
Her: IT'S YOUR ####ING CAR, YOU BOIGHT IT YOU WANTED IT, I DIDN'T EVEN WANT IT, I WAS HAPPY WITH MY CAR

A few days later when it's fixed

I get that with the wife's car... it's only a bloody focus too, but, when it brakes it's suddenly my problem... when it needs loads of work for the MOT it's my job to pay for it...

Still, if i see a car I like I generally got told "well buy it then" so can't complain too much

I had a focus :( 1.6 petrol 'edge'

Work of the devil, most monotonous car, iv ever driven, the only car I have hated with a passion.

Sold that for a 325 compact BMW, other than the rangie, one of the best cars I have owned, oh ther than I had a 320d compact, that was incredible and I'd have another in a heart beat. In fact I migh buy one

Yeah her's is the 1.6l it's a tad boring, but, gets her to work and back, we're going to replace it next year for something a bit more fun... unless we're going somewhere with a low car park i tend to take the D3... lot more fun... or the Spitfire :D

Not a bmw fan personally though

my missus has made me sign up to a "one in one out deal" don't know why as i only had seven cars and three motorbikes in my pension pot, tried to explain that i had put my money into these assets as you can't trust the banks these days, but she wasn't having any of it! i'm going cold turkey at the minute as the collection is down to two cars and a motorbike, and one of those is a p38 so it isn't going anywhere! i feel the itch coming on big time:decision::decision::decision::decision::decision:

So glad I don't have a 'missus' :hysterically_laughi

My L322 conversation went:

Me: I like those new shape range rovers
Inner me: Yeah me too
Me: Not sure though as this Disco has been a bitch
Inner me: But it's not a Disco it's a Range rover
Me: True
Inner Me: That gold one you saw is nice, not seen a gold one around
Me: Do I have sunglasses that would go with a gold car
Inner Me: I saw a nice pair of Ray Bans the other day
Me: Ok bought car let's go get those Ray Bans

So I'm not the only one that uses the logic of ' well I've just spent however many grand, so I'm sure an extra couple of hundred quid on a pair if sunnys and a grand or so on a new watch now seems an insignificant amount of money so I may aswell buy them too??'
