Hi recently bought a freelander 2 57 plate 140,000 on the clock. Within a few days engine management light had it checked it said it was the maf sensor so that was changed. It then started to misfire so undertook new fuel filter air filter and oil filter this made no difference Miss firing became worse and eventually broke down with no power wouldn’t turn over completely dead got it recovered and this time diagnosed as crankshaft sensor so got this changed drove ok for a few days but reduced power keeps showing can’t go above 30 mph - any ideas what next please? I must add that this is a vehicle bought for the 17 year old son
 
The crank sensor is a primary cause of misfires.
Sounds like you've gone down the route of just replacing everything, which isn't the way to move forward on these vehicles, as each component replaced can cause more issues.
Was the replacement crank sensor an OE, or aftermarket?
Aftermarket often have thinner pins than than OE, resulting in bad connections and rapid failure of the replacement sensor.

The MAF code is likely a red herring, and if replacements are fitted, the vehicle needs to have an air path calibration carried out using LR's diagnostic equipment.

I'd refit the old MAF, and make sure the crank sensor is the correct OE type, and check the receptacle in the plug for corrosion.

The next thing to check is the throttle body valve for correct function as the gears strip causing all sorts of random issues.

Hi the crank sensor was an OE part but we do still have the old maf so will try refitting that. I forgot to add it’s an automatic hse model.

Says above check the throttle body valve, they do strip after a certain time due to using plastic cogs

You can buy new cog kits made of alloy to replace over the top of the old large cog.

Thank you would this error show on a diagnostics because most recent code is p0030-13 and we’ve been told that we need a lambda sensor???
 
I don't believe the O2 sensor is responsible for a misfire or cutting out. It's only there to aid low emissions during the EGR cycle, and not to control the engine mixture.

I've remembered a similar issue on another vehicle, unfortunately he never came back with an update, but your symptoms and codes are very similar.

I'm sceptical that any of the items you've changed are the issue.
I'd be looking at common connection to the sensors giving codes, which is either wiring damaged (the harness under the air filter housing is a common place) or corrosion at the ECM main plugs, or possibly the relay 2 (item 49) in the battery junction box.
