My TD5 manual 2003 started playing up i.e. a misfire like symptom. After reading the forums I checked the ECU and found there was a tiny bit of oil in the plug ,cleaned it and took out the ECU unit overnight to stand it on its end to see if there was anymore oil in the unit (There wasn't) My next plan of attack was to disconnect the MAF unit and the car ran as sweet as a nut. I then bought a new Siemens MAF sensor thinking it was going to cure it but the symptoms have returned albeit only a few times but very frustrating to think I've stumped up £80 for nothing. The EGR unit has already been blanked off by the way. Can you help me I would be most greatful.:mad::mad::mad::lalala:

try changing the injector loom, although you have cleaned it, its still leaking into there, causes all sorts of probs

Also have a look at your crank sensor.mine had the occasional misfire.my sensor plug was full of oil from small leak at the back of cam cover.sensor itself was filthy so replaced now sweet.

When is the misfire ? I thought I had a misfire under load in 3rd and fourth Turned out to be a seized wastegate and it was over boosting so cutting fuel
