Hi,

I want to paint my disco. I have not decided which colour yet.
My current paint is metallic willow green. But it has some flaky spots and the roof is in desperate state.

Has anybody used paint from Military Vehicle Paint - Home Page ???

Any other recommendations?

I want to use brush and roller type of paint.

Many thanks!!!

Paints for trade on eBay.i painted mine NATO green.realy good stuff painted a BMW I had bout 2 yrs ago never flaked or Anything

i got the latest colour nato paint you will have to thin it down as it comes real thick ive just rollered mine does its job plus easier when you end up other side of a hedge to repaint it

Just in the process of stripping mine down for a re-paint.
Can't believe how many clips and odds and sods there are to unbolt, eh?!

i preferred the brush option, took about a litre plus thinners :D

I've been practicing the roll on technique on a sheet of aluminium.
I brushed some etch primer first.
Then I rolled one coat of NATO satin green - left it to dry for 24 hrs.
After second coat, 24 hrs drying I got nice orange peel effect
Should I have thinned the paint for the second, third coat?

I flattend the first and second coat with a fresh clean roller - but it did not help.
Is it the paint being to thick?

Many thanks!

Can you not then rub it down with a real fine t cut type paste to get rid of the orange peel effect?

I rollered mine.... Orange peely but ahwell looks about a million times better than corroded alumium, anyway, brush it on and thin it out too.. Also D1s looks class in NATO green

I'm biased cos i wanted it to look rough and ready but I just slapped it on with the brush and the textured finish looks awesome, get plenty of scratches into it and it has great character, I love it :)
