Managed to get a middle front seat for my 1995 defender 300tdi but have struggled for over an hour to get the flipping thing in the gap between the two seats. The trim colour and style is the same so I don't think they are massively different ages.

Is there a knack, are they all a pain to fit.

On the verge of re trimming the cubby box and putting it back, and then listening to the older boy have a cadenza as they can't both go out in the Landy with me together.

Arse.

Its a landy so doubt anythings changed since the defender 'proper' started. I went the other way and binned my middle seat for a cubby and that was a bugger to fit too - think the old seats spreading out as theyve sagged filled in the central space.

Yes, that would make sense, I don't know whether it has ever had a middle seat before as it was an Airport Fire service vehicle originally, and the cubby is a genuine type one.

Ill give it another go in the morning and see if there is something silly I have missed, but it can stay out if not.

Cheers

deffo a pia to fit, think i ened up with a rachet strap round the front of the "legs" to pull them in. also, if you have your driver/passenger seat forward of where the middle will be, pull then right forwards, or if behind, push them right back.
makes it much easier to get in.

Mine gets stuck on the seatbelts on the way back, but with enough kicking, shoving and twisting it will go down.
