high all, my kv6 2.5 let go in a big way last week.smashed no 1 cylinder to bits, piston valves bore and spark plug.going to change engine, but not sure if MG ZS 180 lump which had manual box is a bolt in job.can I just bolt on the auto box and ird to this or do it need to get an engine that had an auto box fitted.
 
usually the engine it self is the same its all the add ons are different.but thats only going on engine changes ive been involved with in the passed.

A engine is a engine, all the same, Now the difference will be bell housing torque convertor starter ring etc .
so to make it easy just change the parts from your engine to new engine.Take lots of pic for references and mark things to how it goes. good luck

depends try the joys of renault and your find years cause problems when engine code the same-best look first.
 
Hope you don't mind me chucking my sixpence worth in , i have changed an auto engine for a manual engine in my distant past albeit not a landy you will probably find on the manual engine at the rear of the crankshaft it has a spigot bearing, for the manual gearbox output shaft to sit in you will have to remove it as it is not required for the nipple on the back of the torque converter.i believe the nipple is used to centre the converter onto the crank...
