Good Afternoon All

Many thanks to Hippo for assisting in the right area to post!

Just joined the community and am seeking guidance on a particular item regarding the M62 cylinder head
Am ready to re-install but the manual states an O ring is required but am at a loss of locating the item through the spares network
Additionally have been informed there could also be a non return valve required?
Vehicle is a 2004 4.4 V8 Vogue
Appreciate any assistance/information in advance

Many Thanks

Which manual are you using?

Which O Ring does it state to replace?

There are O rings on the VANOS control solenoid housing and on the Cam Gear Chain Tensioner....

The LR workshop manual LRL0477 is shows a picture of the head with an O ring to be installed just back from the vanos inlet sprocket

This One?

The manual does not give a part number it just says fir a new one!

Have asked British Car Parts and Rimmer Bros but they are at a loss as to the identification of the o ring

6800 - Part Number LDO000020
HM1 - Part Number LZV000010

Are these they?

6397B is a locating dowel....6800 is a non-return/check valve and HM1 is listed down as a spacer....but it could be called an O ring by the Land Rover manual and parts suppliers (and Land Rover themselves) may call it a spacer...

6397B is part number LYU000040

It is the spacer shown in the last picture Saint posted. It is the exact same on the BMW engine - that is how I sourced mine. You can look the number up of realoem.com - just pick a 2001 X5 with 4.4. I believe this is the part #
