What's the advantage of the app over just using the conference call option on any smart phone?
Not trying to belittle anyone's efforts, just interested in the thinking behind it.

One if the benefits for the Mods is that will background monitor and notify you as soon as a call is received and then play it back to you similar to an answering system. We regularly miss posts on here for an hour or so as it isnt monitored 24/7 like Zello can. You can also set up groups to have live chat sessions, so the Mods know instantaneously what is happening, over a period of a couple of hours. try leaving a phone open on conference call for that long.
It may not be ideal, but it is being used by other 4x4 rescue groups with some success. It would be silly not to give it a try.

As a small aside with this format you can chose to watch the lzir section and select email notification for new thread.
I get pinged on my phone each time a new thread is started without getting overloaded by being pinged for every post.
This zello thing could work well and save a lot of delay sending and waiting for messages if enough people sign up.
Preferably signing up with forum user names to make inviting into a group easier.

Can you actually type like messenger on it??
Only heard people talking on it? Might be worth a whatsapp group if that's at all possible we use what's app for work and it's a great tool for string info to the people you need straight away
