Out of questioning, what is the standard wading depth of a Defender and a D2 ?

You LR guys must be having lots of problems with washed out bearings, and diff problems no?

I once took my LC which is lifted 50mm, and 20mm lift on taller tyres, through a river, which was a bit deeper than expected.
It was level with the bottom of my drivers door window, (about 1,27M) I was lucky to get through without swamping.
Bow wave was covering the windscreen wipers.

Some weeks later after carefully fitting a Safari snorkel, the LC wades 1,6M, but the rear starts to float, and lift off the road/river bed.
Quite a very strange feeling when the back wheels lift clear and start to swing sideways.

Gra

You waded 1.27m without a snorkel  did I read that right??

Watched BBC news on Thursday. the reporter attempted to interview a member of Surrey4x4Response. So here he is with a chance to explain to a million people, what 4x4response is all about, and to gain some brownie points for 4x4 users in general (&fook knows we need some good publicity) What does he say
"There's lots of planning to be done, if you'll excuse me" And with that he turned his back on her and walked away..
What a total fooking cock...

Or he could have been busy and couldn't be arsed to talk to a reporter.

I was in a similar position once (not 4x4response) and was interrupted at the worst time, I had no choice but to walk off after giving a short answer

Plus there seems to be an automatic assumption from the media (particularly TV news) that whatever they are doing is automatically far more important than what everyone else is doing, and that everyone will immediately give them all the time they need for the chance to be on the telly.

There was an example from the BBC a couple of weeks ago, when a reporter was making his report from the back of a public meeting, and was most put out when someone asked him to be quiet. The studio presenter then said "it was only 30 seconds" - which is irrelevant. A real person was speaking at the meeting, and this stupid reporter was talking over him - quite loudly. Stuff 'em and their stupid cameras, I say.

I like Prince Harry's comment (or was it William) to the journalists: why don't you put down your notebooks and lend a hand?

Yes those two lads have gone up in my estimation again. I really think they are decent chaps. Excellent reply. Can you imagine being lambasted by a future king :D
