Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have an early 3.5 V8 (Rover P6 I think) in my series IIa that I have been rebuilding and I have found that the vacuum advance unit has failed and does not advance the ignition at all (tried putting a pipe to the advance unit and sucking on it, nothing moves in the dizzy and I can suck air through it). Now, I have been looking for one of these vacuum advance units but am struggling to find one or at least one for less than about £120! My question is this, can anyone point me in the right direction to find a replacement vacuum advance unit or, failing that, which dizzy's will be a direct swap for the one I have?
Any help or advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Andy.

It's not that bad! I'm not sure exactly which part number you are looking for but check out lrseries.com and type in a search for distributor vacuum unit.

Alternatively, island-4x4.co.uk list a pattern part; search for RTC3201.

Cheers for that but is it the same advance curve used on the newer electronic ignition distributors as the older one I have and also will it even fit as the 35D8 is the early single point type distributor?
Cheers again,
Andy.
