I got pretty close to accurate with my brim to empty test, they ripped the pump up before i could do too many tests and added 3 more pez pumps!! ;)

All i know is even though Petrol is more expensive, i could get over 400mi from a tank..

Range is everything IMO.
Between P38 and the Silver 4ud1, I've done upwards of 40,000 miles, MOSTLY on LPG. Closely monitoring and almost always brim-to-brim, I've concluded that it uses as near as dammit an additional 27% LPG for a given distance than unleaded. STILL significantly cheaper than solely using "Pez".

I agree it is cheaper ;)

But if i wanted cheap motoring i'd buy a motorcycle not a v8 rangie ;)

Need to get the lpg bits refitted to mine and see how it runs, last time it was running far too lean which is very bad! And it's an old system that will need a special expensive cable to get software connected. More expense!

Do the sill tanks damage the ground clearance? They are also pretty heavy and put a strain on wrong bit of the chassos. The small petrol tank would e a problem round here where the LPG stations are few. Not a problem when the spare wheel is in the right place or on the bonnet but cannot do that with a P38, Would need a gi huge mileage to pay the cost of that set up
My P38 has a 90lts capacity "doughnut" tank where the spare tyre used to live. The 4udi has a 90lts cylindrical tank directly behind rear seats, but still a huge boot space. P38 has had LPG installation for over 100,000 miles and 4ud1A8 for over 160,000 miles.

As in all and it is also good advice to switch to petrol before you switch the engine off.
Agreed. I often forget, resulting in P38 awakening on 2nd turn of the key, as it's still trying to run in LPG mode. Interestingly though, the 4ud1will often start on LPG even after being switched off for a while.

LPG pumps are are corrected to I think 15 degrees C
If spare is not in floor then it has to jang around looking untidy

Fair point, but I still appear to have all the lovely V8 power, but costing only 55.7p litre. What's not to like? I actively sought out dual fuel for both the P38 and that A.N.OTHER.

Horses for courses. You could always have an lpg tank on your land and run the house gas off it too. That way you'd save loads on the lpg for your vehicle. If you want to go off roading I agree there are trade offs. Don't think the weight is an issue when you think of the weight a Landy is supposed to carry. If you are worried you could always carry a jerrican full of "pez". But seriously, I didn't fit the blessed thing, Bought it with it fitted, in fact I probably paid less than the cost of the system for the system with an attached Disco !. Winnings all round!

I was going to buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo with LPG, but the tank looked hideous in the boot and almost filled it up. The A8 tank has a cover that effectively renders it invisible.

My A8 LPG system was inoperative when I bought it. Took it to a local engine tuning guy who serviced complete system - 8 cylinders - same as P38, who charged about £130. Turned out it was just a b4st4rd fuse with a high resistance. I checked it with my meter before going to him and it was first thing he also checked with his meter too. After stripping and cleaning all the solenoid valves, the evaporator & replacing a couple of filters, he went back to the fuse, replaced it and it kicked into life. Not missed a beat since. Well worth a punt recommissioning yours I'd have thought. What system do you have?
