I'm about to fit a multi point system to my p38 4.6 tomorrow removed it from one today that a guy was breaking it was a tartarini etagas with a doughnut tank any one got the software and cable pretty please
sick of putting petrol in it
 
4.6, multipoint injection and I get around 220 on a 75lt tank....good mixture of driving around town and motorway / A roads every day.....

That I think works out at well over 0.20P per mile at current LPG prices. £96 of diesel will get me around 500 miles, works out at less than 0.16p per mile, tractors win hands down:p:p:p
 
I get 12 mpg which would give me approx 200m for 70 l. Given LPG / Petrol price diff it equates to around 19 mpg which is sh** compared to some of what I am seeing here

I suspect the system, installation and the engine it is being fitted to all impact how efficient it ends up being.

Mine has hi-lift cam and chip in it which I suspect are not doing much for consumption.

I was getting around 20-22 on petrol before the conversion. I'm not doing anything unusual - regular servicing (including the lpg set up), sensible (not overly cautious) driving etc.

I've rarely got less than 240 miles from a tank of LPG!:)

seems to pull alot better on gas than petrol
has a nasty flat spot from static pull off
any one got the software so I can alter the map

i also get 12 -14 mpg out of both my p38s on gas and on a run 18 mpg has been the best.
it must be remembered that to get the same performance on gas as on petrol you have to introduce more gas into the engine .
some of these mpg figures being quoted sound as they could be running a bit lean which is not good when running on lpg [over heating ,head gasket,cracked head ] to name but a few
also the only way for true mpg figures is to brim the tank,drive x amount of miles, refill tank , then see how many litres used against mileage traveled :)

spotted your thread whilst googling....... how are you getting on with this system please? I ask as i have just got hold of a cheap P38 with the tartarini etagas system fitted, but somewhat 'semi removed to remedy a fault.' car running ok on petrol now, have you by any chance got a similar setup to mine? have you got a pair of round injector manifolds with the four pipes on each? as opposed to the matchbox square(rectangle) units? and a pair of rectangle emulators mouted off the engine, say to the bulkhead? i could do with a litttle advice on replugging these to the loom, and maybe get hold of some PDF's on installation etc. and any issues you had/have etc. p38 4.6 gems. many thanks in advance.
car was originally running ok on gas/petrol, inlet mainifold removed for engine work, lpg system not sympathetically labelled etc, -sold on not running.

I have a p38 2.5 DSE and I get just over 28MPG urban and over 33MPG non urban.

you should be getting around 220-260 depending on whether round town or motorway driving , and depending how heavy your right foot is :D

Im gonna get mine serviced as I'm only getting about 160, which i think is very low

Realistically, I reckon on my 4.6, average is around 15-17, though once i did get it to read 20mpg on the computer :eek:
 
My RR does 200 miles on 74 litres of gas (84 litre tank) and on a run about 230 cruising at about 85-90 mph, the system is a stag and a little over a year old ..
 
Not sure how many litres my tank is but to fill her up costs £53 @ 75.9p/lt. (You work it out)

I get between 180-200 miles out of a full tank of gas.

EDIT: My system is a multi-point system by Prins. I also drive fast! :)
 
1 more thing, anyone who gets an LPG conversion, for the love of god keep an eye on their water! They run much hotter than when on petrol and therefore drink a lot of water. I have to top mine up every 2 days. It would take 4 days for the "check coolant" message to pop up but i don't like to wait that long.

Also get it serviced! Costs around £117 to get it serviced. Most people just assume you have to do nothing just like you have to do nothing for your fuel system. Well almost nothing anyway.

using that much water has got nothing to do with it being run on lpg, my rrc never used a drop of water in 2 years. I'd start investigating that issue if I were you.

When i bought the car i had the head tested, all hoses and the rad checked, water pump checked, i put a new electric thermostat in it and flushed the whole cooling system. (I always do this when i buy a new car)
She doesn't spill a drop anywhere. It's not losing water it's just using it because it runs hotter on LPG and i drive it hard.

I've never heard of lpg motors using a lot of water before and I've had 2 and my bro has got 3. :confused:

Yes you are. The millage is rubbish but because the gas is alomost half price, it's like getting twice the mpg for the same cost if you filled it up with petrol.

The car only does on average 12.5 mpg but with the cost of gas, i get the equivelent of around 25 mpg......which is bloody good considering im in a 2.25t brick with a 4.4 V8 in it!! :D
If you already own an RR and you don't want to sell it just to get a diesel, a conversion is good.
I bought it with the conversion done already so i had nothing to worry about.
Im not planning on driving her through any fords so a petrol suits me fine. It's nice to have some power for once in a 4x4.
My last truck was a 3.0lt TD Toyota Hilux Surf and was **** on the mpg.....now i get the same millage (****) but i get a 4.4 V8 powerplant! I think thats a good trade don't you? :)
So it all depends on each person's circumstances really.
Plus i get to be smug about being greener hahahaaha. :D
