Platinum or Iridium plugs are generally used for longer service intervals because they've buried the damn things down the back of the engine. My old miggie had them for that reason claiming they only needed changing every 100k miles. Might have slightly better heat resistance. Shouldn't affect the spark though and the Rangie plugs aren't that inaccessible.

I have LPG and NGK's with no issues. Buy cheapest known good brand. Gap them properly!!!

I always run the manufacturers standard plugs with LPG and I've never had any problems.

Champion for mine (it's GEMS). I''ve just changed them, the old ones came out looking almost new with 2 years use on them.

Like Castor says, just gap them and fit them, all the claims of better economy etc are just BS.

EDIT

Champions for you too isn't it Mozz…

I think I got a full set for mine for about £20 or something.

I've always just set them to what the manual says to, and they've always been fine.

On my RR that's 1mm.

It might sound dumb to you but... how do you gap them properly? Im in the process of giving the car a bloody good service, just ordered the plugs and HT leads and i thought you just gave them a little nip???:confused::confused::confused:

Feeler gauges.

Just did a search on NGK's site about this - they make a plug specifically for LPG and the P38 listed ....

Yes they do as do many other manufacturers. Then you have to decide whether you pay £60.00 for a set of plugs or £15.00 the choice is yours.
