So, if Ive read it correctly (debatable), the petrol fuel trims are high? You turn that on as the final step, in the LPG setup. I don't know if it modifies the map or supplies a temporary offset

After running on lpg for a while. So, if Ive read it correctly (debatable), the petrol fuel trims are high?
The petrol fuel trims are too high after running on lpg? After running on lpg for a while.
I *think* I've mostly addressed that now though but need to do more miles.
Main task at the moment is to see why bank 2 is rich on deceleration
YesThe petrol fuel trims are too high after running on lpg?
Right OK,
That's the thing, it's not. The LPG ecu goes between the petrol ecu and the petrol injectors so the petrol ecu always thinks it's running on petrol and tries to compensate/learn for any error in the lpg setup. Then it runs crap when you switch back. Foolish idea if you ask meRight OK,
So how is the petrol ecu disabled when on lpg. (I've never been near one so excuse the questions kerm)?
How did the old system cut the petrol ecu? That's the thing, it's not. That's a good questionHow did the old system cut the petrol ecu?
Back to the rich condition on Bank two. That's a good question
Ah.. there was an extra 'black box' which i think acted like a fancy flip flop relay that defaulted to petrol. I disconnected the power to it and left the rest so it's just a junction box that does nothingThat's a good question
When i ease off the accelerator, i see the short term (fast) fuel trim jump up to about 15-18Back to the rich condition on Bank two.
How can you see the rich condition?
Software or sensor?
sometimes preaching is goodTry this, do a ré learn for the petrol ecu with the lpg disabled. Then if it's possible to do a relearn for the lpg using the lpg software. There could be an issue in the installation or the software for the lpg...
Make sure the engine is upto temp for both procedures.. Not preaching kerms.
So the engine is doing its thing on the petrol side?sometimes preaching is good
I reset adaptions after trims went to 25, that side all seems good now.
I've reset the LPG side a number of times now and it ends up worse than the base map!
I've checked for software/firmware updates too, all seems current.
It could be an install issue, but the troubleshooting steps suggest all is correct
It seems to be.. though I've probably jinxed it nowSo the engine is doind its thing on the petrol side?
That tells us the problem is now isolated to the lpg, so.. The black box of flippy floppy description... Is it part of the lpg system? It seems to be.. though I've probably jinxed it now
Part of the old system. That tells us the problem is now isolated to the lpg, so.. The black box of flippy floppy description... Is it part of the lpg system?
If it's part of the old system, it needs to be removed as there is no need for it to be there? Is there any way it is interfering at all?Part of the old system.
By leaving it in place in working on the idea of it ain't broke, don't fix. I don't have petrol issues, it's not connected to the lpg, therefore it had to be ok
The power has been cut, it's not plugged into the old ECU, the worst i can see happening is the engine would cut out if it failed. If it's part of the old system, it needs to be removed as there is no need for it to be there? Is there any way it is interfering at all?
