When it was started with large road transport vehicles I had read where test vehicles were producing so much extra torque they were breaking crankshafts, it was called "the torque twister kit". A friend of mine years ago fitted lpg injection to his tdi200 Disco, said it improved towing torque radically, don't think it improved economy though.Looking at it after reading a couple more threads on tinternet' your quite right, burning two fuels at the same time doesn't equate to a saving!!
Interesting though.
Fair enoughA mate o mine worked for a window company ,who fitted the diesel vans with gas,He said the van he had used a tank of diesel in 400 miles ,but with the gas it used a tank of gas and a tank of diesel in 400 miles...And it was no faster,His words not mine........

Got a mate who did it to his Skoda VRS but it was for power gain as he drag raced it. Notice the past tense. He added LPG, nitrous, methanol cooling and a big f*ck off turbo. Went like the clappers for a while.
I've some of you V8 bus drivers talking about fitting LPG systems yourselves.
Do you need certificates for the system for the mot?
Here in France we wouldn't get away with it!
Makes sense you get yourself covered. God forbid!Strictly speaking, no. However, most insurance companies want a certificate and to be honest it is worth having a pro go over it with a sniffer to make sure you haven't dropped any clangers.
