I have a 2006 td4 freelander after a few problems with it going into limp mode I changed the fuel rail pressure sensor/inline fuel pressure sensor and filter to no avail last resort was the lp fuel pump behind the drivers side rear arch I bought an aftermarket one off the net the car runs sweet now but makes a whiney noise coming from the pump is this normal as a few people told me it is if you don't use landy original part which was quoted at 440 plus vat the one I installed cost me 70 notes any thoughts people all answers appreciated

Yep, whining noise is fairly common with the non genuine low pressure pumps. I've replaced quite a few in the workshop for customers, over the years, and most of the after market ones were quite loud when running. Sad to say also, but few of them lasted more than 12 months, so I'd keep your receipt if I were you!
