As title...it has got worse over the last 6 months so after it hit the low teens i thought ide have a look. Took the bottom cover off the pump and dropped the guts finding scoring on the cover, also found 2 pump gaskets in place:eek:..then i moved on to the relief valve which i cleaned and refitted with a couple of washers behind the spring for good measure. The cover i took a thou off the face with my miller just enough to clean and return it to true flat, checked the gears which were within specs and nailed it back together with a single gasket:rolleyes: took the dissy out and biult up the pressure with a modified dissy stem and drill, only took a min so the packing with vasoline worked well. Re-fitted dissy and fired the old girl up...hey presto 50 psi and a nice drop down to 40 at 3000 and 25 psi at idle so ime happy at the result for the price of a pump gasket...heres a pic of the cover after i took it off:)

Nice one roof gaffa, I've done several like that but just by resurfacing on a true flat block and emery cloth with plenty of parafin. :)

The weak link in these pumps seem to be the bottom cover ive found...they seem to warp with age and have the job of holding the gears up in place with a resulting wear on the inside face:(...i think they should of been made with a hardend shim and made this item the parasitic replacable part instead of the cover. But hey ho job done now so i can now move on to the Heater motor resistor only giving 1 speed, anyone know any un-employed dwarfs looking for a under dash job:D
