I have located what I believe to be the the low fuel pressure switch/sensor (not sure of the correct name) which is fitted under the ECU box. If I disconnect this the engine runs a lot better.
Also what is the best way to test this and if it is faulty where do I purchase from? What should the supply voltage be?
I can't find any new or used on Ebay.

I'm guessing it's a TD4 FL1.

You need to look at the live data as to whether its got low, low pressure.

Disconnecting sensors normally puts the EDC into a default mode, which may make it run better, but could damage the HP pump.

The EDC limits fuel throughput if the low pressure rail is showing under 260kPa, and cuts it altogether if it drops under 250kPa. For full power to be available, the low pressure fuel rail needs to be over 300kPa, preferably over 350kPa at full power output.

So you need to work out if the sensor is faulty (unlikely), or the fuel pressure is low (more likely).

Thanks Nodge. TD4 FL1
Has brand new fuel pump and filter . With the sensor connected Low fuel pressure is at 31 then rises to 300 plus and all is well .....for a bit.... and then drops down again. DTC 1260
Map sensor clean and working. Maf sensor new. Hp rail sensor new. No lights on dash and always starts first time.
