Hello everybody!! I'm totally new with rangerovers.. Right now looking for one of them,thinking about p38 around 2000.. Who can tell me what's the difference between 2.5tds and 2.5dse.. ? And how about the gear box? I prefer MT,but it's hard to find one,what about the automatic transmission, is it reliable?
TDS is basic farmers model DSE is special electric, comes with various extra functions. Trip computer, air con,.sun roof, better radio, electric seats, heated seats, sat nav stuff like that depending on build spec. If you are looking for one 2000 or so it will be a DHSE. Gearboxes are like anything else well serviced ok, neglected or a lot of towing can give problems.
Is it possible that p38 2001 doesn't have air suspension?

I own a P38, 1998 model & it's just gone over 20k on the clock !! It's in remarkable condition & as the mechanic ( who gave it it's first service whilst it's been in my possession ) stated that it is the finest cared for motor he has seen. I have owned Land Rovers for over 30 years & he has serviced all of 'em. All models except a series 1 !!
