It provides an extension to kerb or verge illumination on dip beam without dazzling oncoming drivers. You have HID's (Hideous) lights that blind every other fecker on the road.
Agree they are awful. But you don't have a choice.
I meant EU doesn't have an uptick.. why do we need one? Does it really help?

Au contraire, LHD cars in the EU have the uptick on the right instead of the left as in the UK.
Cheers, i was quite sure I'd read that eu cars didn't need to make an adjustment
