Anyone fancy doing the clutch on my 200 tdi discovery, Mr clutch have quoted £426 all in, but if there's anyone local to me (Rochford, Essex) then I'd rather let a Land Rover enthusiast do it. I'm fairly confident it's the release arm that's gone as the clutch was absolutely fine with no problems at all until Sunday morning when the pedal went to the floor with very little resistance and the clutch wouldn't disengage, the pedal returns normally, at first I thought it might be the slave or master cylinder rubbers but I don't think it is as there's no fluid leaks, everything seems to be pointing towards the release arm.

No help with the mechanic, but just as a pointer just had this same problem myself..ended up being release bearing had melted..it had only done approx 500 miles previous owner had fitted a britpart clutch and bearing.so be aware.
I used a valeo hd clutch and got a rakeway release bearing..after comparison on bearings the rakeway has a much wider mating face than any of the others and the one that came with the valeo kit was useless aswell.(valeo branded release bearing)
No help i know, just a heads up incase
Dnt wanna be forking out twice in a few months

Thanks fellas, I've bitten the bullet and booked it into a local garage now as I can't work without it and they're able to get it in tomorrow, I'm hopeful that they'll do a good job, I've used them for M.O.Ts on both discos and they seem sensible so I'm gonna give them a go, keeping my fingers crossed.
