I've not come up with anything after searching..... looking to see what the load space is in the P38 with the seats down.

Basically I move very large picture frames about quite often in my Volvo 850 at the moment, hoping that a P38 will be as big (or even bigger).

So the sizes that are most useful to me are the narrowest point in the boot area (between the strut towers), and the length between the tailgate and folded rear seats.

I had a MK II Astra, and it held more luggage an a Volvo

MK2 Astra held more than an 850 Estate?! Don't remember the Tardis edition....

The brochure says;
Seat up:
width = 1068mm
length = 820mm

Seat rolled forward:
width = 1068mm
Length = 1365mm

The seat rolled forward figure is deceptive as if you only knock the seat backs forward instead of fully rolling them you have the full length from the tailgate to front seat to play with which must be close to 1.8m

i'll pobably have a measure of it later.

hmmm, doesn't sound that big! Would be interested to hear what the maximum length would be....

It's fookin' massive...but I reckon a 850 is longer and the suspension turrets etc are less intrusive.

P38 probably has a bigger volume of luggage space and a higher & wider cabin; just less of a regular box shape.

Two big alsatians would be happier in a Rangie, but I reckon a Rembrant would prefer the Volvo...

Come to think of it, I actually did bring a king size bed (in bits) and mattress (yeah, this wasn't in bits) home from a furniture shop 2 years ago so theres's an indication of size. I'm pretty sure I was pressed up on top of the steering wheel with both seats as far forward as they would go but I got it in and closed the back door so thats proof

A mattress being squeezed in sounds quite promising! Do the back seats fold flat then (if you are able to get some extra space by moving the front seats forward as that would suggest...?

Here is an extract from the brochure, it'll explain better than I can with words. as you can see to get a totally flat loadspace you must fold forward the the backrest and then roll forward the seat base to stand upright behind the front seat. This gives you the load length of 1,365mm at minimum of 1,068 wide between the struts. This is a totally flat, unencumbered load space. The seat back is split 60/40 and can be folded /rolled independantly. With the back rest folded forward only, you have extra length, all the way to the back of the front seat. As I said this is easily 1.8m but you have the height of the folded seat to go over.

As said above I squeezed a king size mattress (2,000mm x 1,500mm) and its disassembled bed into the back so short of space you won't be.
