Does anyone know what the little switch on the drivers door lock barrel does? It activates when you turn the key.
I was removing the assembly to fix the lock and the two wires snapped off (unless they were already snapped and it doesn't do anything!).

It must be broken because I've not seen any special flying monkey rescue squads!!!

Would this signal it sends happen to be an important one?

If there's a problem with the door micro switch the central locking won't work and the alarm won't set when using a dook key, it's a 200 thing as a 300 has a different systen so doesn't have one.

Is it also used for inputting the EKA code if your alarm / immobiliser has a paddy? If so I would fix it rather than wait to be properly stranded!

Discool, are you sure? I thought it was the 200 that didnt have one, whereas the 300 does. Ive stripped an M reg 300 down and that had a micro switch anyway...
