Can anyone tell me why a LHD 300 TDI has handed rear springs when the RHD has identical part Nr rear springs. Next question is, are the police springs lower for speed or just stiffer for the crap they carried. I thought my RR was a bit low at the rear, but having just bought a RHD 1987 vogue, which sits level I think mine is too high at the front.

Good question! I can't answer as to why LHD springs are a different spec. for each side but if your RR is high at the front could it have had a winch fitted some time in the past? There are also variations if the vehicle is fitted with a factory handling kit (anti-roll bars) I think the police specs are purely for weight as the vehicles were banned from high-speed pursuit activities.

Thanks for that, I'm wondering if my 1994 had higher springs all round with the terrafirma shocks, & the 200000km it did towing a 3.5 ton mobile workshop up almost every mountain in France has squit the rear springs. It has done just under 500000km & been a workhorse all its life, I have the 2" high service history from when it left Solihull.
