Hi Everyone,

This is only my 2nd post so please be gentle. LOL.

My P38 2.5DSE 1998 S reg, is leaning to one side (towards the drivers side) but only on the back, could someone be so kind as to give me an idea of what the problem might be? I dont get any messages on the little computer screen about it.

is it leaning all the time? duz it drop? if it drops u may have a leak, i had the same problem but no leaks i got a lead and eas software and reset the heights on the laptop
 
Thanks for the reply. I dont think it drops, the car drives fine and it seems to go through all the heights, and it does seem to lean all the time even when its been parked up for a while.

get urself an eas cable and download the software reset the heights, search threads on here theres lots of em covering eas

I had the same problem some time back with my Rangie - it was a duff height sensor. Replaced and reset with the software and alls well.
 
OK, I have all the cables I need. I pluged it into the EAS and clicked Init, the TX and RX columns started scrolling.

So I assume I am now connected to the EAS.

Now for the "What do I do now?"

Would someone be so kind as to give me a tutorial on how to reset the suspension, or whatever I need to do to try and find out what is at fault.

I clicked Read all and these are the readings I got from the Calibrate Tab:

FL 135 - FR 131 - RL 131 - RR 129 On High Profile
FL 109 - FR 106 - RL 113 - RR 112 On Standard Profile
FL 94 - FR 91 - RL 101 - RR 101 On Low Profile
FL 65 - FR 63 - RL 80 - RR 81 On Access Profile

And under the Hights Tab I have:

LF 111 RF 122
LR 112 RR 121

Are these readings OK?

OK, I have taken measurements at each of the height settings.

Would someone have a look and see if I do need to change the settings with the EAS unlock suite. I dont know what I am doing so any guidance would be very welcome.

The measurements I have taken with a tape measure are from the centre of the wheel arch to the ground in each of the height settings are:

High Height Setting:
NSR-89cm OSR-85.5cm
NSF-86cm OSF-84cm

Standard Height Setting:
NSR-85.5cm OSR-82cm
NSF-82cm OSF-80.5cm

Motorway Height Setting:
NSR-83cm OSR-79.5cm
NSF-80cm OSF-78cm

Access Height Setting:
NSR-78.5cm OSR-75.5cm
NSF-76cm OSF-74.5cm

What do you guys think?

i wudnt worry bout all the figures being a science, just alter the low corner to suit the rest or you cud be there forever

Should I bring the lower corner up or bring the higher corner down?

im surprised you can tell theres any thing low from the settings you posted, i asked for some figures to work too a while back and i think... it may have been irishrover who help me out if you can get them figures you could set them all better than they look now, you have to be on level ground with correct tyre pressures
 
LOL, after all of that it would seems its just me being over critical, LOL.

Seriously though when you look at the back it does notice that the motor leans towards the nearside at a guess by about 3cm's, but not from the front.

This is my first one (wont be my last) and I have only had her 2 weeks, so I am not sure of anything with her.

Is it just a quirk of a Range Rover?

everythings a quirk of r/r lol, u sure it aint cos it re levelling? they re level when ya get out anorl
 
I am not sure, this only came about because my son thinks it leans a little. I cant feel it leaning when I am in the car, but I can see it from the rear.

I messed about with the height adjustments, but I cant seem to correct it and I am worried that I might break somthing. I think I will leave it for now and see how things go.

There is a guy on flebay in Birmingham who will supply and fit all 4 air springs for £370, if I start to notice it I might just get them all done.

dont buy bags unless u need em and i dont think u need em, ask on ere if sum1 is close enuff to you to pop round and check em

Extended 120-180 105-150
Standard 95-150 85-130
Low 75-140 75-120
Access 50-110 50-100


Here are the values from the wheel arch to the wheel CENTRE with front tyre pressure 28psi and rears 38psi,
car must be on firm level ground.

STANDARD height 470mm +/- 7mm

HIGH profile 510mm +/- 7mm

ACCESS height 405mm +/- 7mm

I am really really sorry but I have found the fault. (its me)

It was something that was said about the self leveling system.

My drive slopes off, I just put a spirit level on my back bumper, and it is level.

That is the last time I listen to my DH son.
