Hi all,
both my front and rear diff casings ( round pans) have pin holes in them, causing a small leak from each.
Is this common? and is there any fix's other than replacing both axles?
thanks a lot
Gareth

If welding the hole drain diff of oil. remove diff and wash out with degreaser. & allow to evaporate fully before welding.

Or you could... drain the diffs, wire brush the affected area and apply some heat to get rid of any oil on the inside of the holes, fill with metal putty n paint with a couple of coats of hammerite... thats what i did and all is well atm

Sounds like nathan has the best idea,
Although you can get heavy duty diff pans, could be time for an upgrade,
There not cheap tho, a mate has done it on his 93 range rover, im sure he said £150 each or somthing for the parts ?

He got shafted..

I have nicked the axle cases outta Robins 300tdi. I'm gonna clean up up and weld a HD plate to the bottom of the diff casings where they normally go. Strengthen the spring and radius arm mounts and then put the diff & shafts outta me 200 axles in them.

:D :D That was a first class bodge, in the middle of nowhere :D

Me finger was a bit sticky the rest of the day though :p

Fookin right it was a bodge, no primer and didn`t even paint it the same colour never mind polish and Tcut!!
