Hi,

As i am here i might as well ask your advise on this one as well!

The landy sits about 1" lower on the near side.

I bough Dad a new sets of OE springs but have not got around to fitting them ( i have access to a ramp air line etc..)

I cannot imagine it being anything else but i am not that up on it!

Anyone got thoughts to the contrary?

Regards

Tom

That's your best bet, or the "dislocation cones" or whatever they are called may be jiggered. It's usually just down to the springaloos

could be the dampers. if your replacing the springs, for the money, i would replace both dampers too.

they are supposed to lean.

I dont mean front to back but sideways.

looking from the front it is a good inch lower one side, maybe more...

I will have a close lok at the dampers and attempt a bounce test.

if the old man is willing to pay i'll fit em!

Cheers guys!

its supposed to lean to one side. they all do it. all my springs and dampers are brand new and mine even does it.
each spring is a different rating to the rest. they are colour coded.

mine certainly doesn't lean to the side but I've seen plenty that do, one of which even leans to the opposite side of the driver with only him in the car! You can get it straight if you want to.

Thats the way ours leans, towards the kerb.

The new springs didn't cost much and as the old ones look very tired it has to be worth a shot!

all four springs are colour coded , dont buy four front left springs or four rear right etc.
they are coded with coloured stripes painted on to them , if you need help to identify which springs go on what corner let me know , ive got it in a book somewhere.

Hi Guys,

Thanks Nobber, the ones i bought (some time ago) were both black with stickers indictating left and right sides.

Why would LR design them to lean out of interest?

No questioning whether they did or didn't, but your personal opinions as to why?

Regards

Tom

As Adseybear said

He Is correct, I have worked for Landrover for 3 and half years, and LR's Own Explanation was that is compensates for the driver in the car.

Go On and test it, Get someone to sit in, and have a look from outside, I Think you'll be surprised.

Cheers

Peter

You have to be pretty heavy to make it lean an inch!

Also, doesn't the torque make it correct itself, when I rev mine it corrects itself slightly. But I still maintain it's wonky!!!

As it's done a bit of towing, springs are a bit more knackered than usual, so I might replace the back pair, good prices on the internet, so might be worthwhile.

Ah, i see what you've done there; your subject is in fact a dog, and he/she is sat on the wrong side!
