We are going to sue the person that made the post even though they did not know if information was correct or not.

We think that from the thousands of people that have bought from us in the past, we do a very good job on our recon parts.
We are (as far as we are aware) the only company that happily give all our customers all the help they need regarding fitting the recon parts that they have purchased from us and any other issues they may come across with their Land Rover's. We specialise in transmission, deal only with Land Rover and with the experience, tools and software we have we do our very best to help our customers however we can.
We only want to do this here.......talk about Land Rover parts and help people that may have issues with theirs and hopefully help some people save some money along the way.
We prefer people to get the correct information from the start and not end up wasting money on parts they do not need / or the incorrect ones. We think this a good business method, rather than just selling people whatever we can.

If anyone wants advise with a Land Rover issue, we are here to help.

The links providing the info are there, they appear to be public to me. It was posted as part of a positive recommendation of your company so forgive me if I completely fail to understand why you are going to sue and what for.

Sooo.... You're going to sue someone for looking up info in the public domain, posting it in another part of the public domain, and concluding you are a legitimate company with a good business model. Excellent. I can hear the lawyers tittering with glee.

It's ok, I run a litigation team on my current project, with an operational budget of >£15m. I've got a small damp patch where I've let out a little bit of wee while giggling at the idea that I can be sued for posting information that's already in the public domain IN A POSITIVE LIGHT!

Seriously, you need to have a word with yourself. If there's anything you believe is defamatory, fill your boots.

Public domain or not.....you cannot write what you do not know is correct. We can't spend all our time replying to your messages as we are too busy with our project of reconditioning Land Rover parts correctly. With regard to your bladder problems....we really don't know what to say, maybe you should visit the doctor rather spending all your time here!!!!

Will you be seeking 'loss of dummy' compensation? :D

You're inferring some sort of defamation because you think NoDosh posted the wrong address for you?

As for the bladder joke, only people who are not currently the object of ridicule can do that sort of thing. You'd best get back to your shed and angrily recondition some more LR parts. Seriously, if I were your spouse, I would be saying, 'just stop talking. You've done enough damage already.'

I vote this thread be made a sticky. Some gentle amusement at the top of the FL page will cheer my spirits on a cloudy day.

If these are the kind of words that we are hearing from administration, then we are on the wrong forum. If you think we are wrong for asking someone to remove incorrect information, then please delete our account straight away. We do not want to be part of a forum that is not about Land Rover parts.

I'm not admin I'm a mere minion :)

It's a forum about all aspects of Land Rovers for and by Land Rover owners....not parts or the free advertising of.

That said you very nearly got some very good publicity which you countered in quite spectacular fashion.

Well played :)

If someone on this forum have had a really good deal or top quality work done by someone or some firm they recommend them e.g. Bell Engineering, I've never used them yet but I will when needed because of the feedback from other members. You've had the same chance, but I believe after these comments I think your ship has sailed.

Business Studies: Module 1 (The Bleedin' Obvious)
Question 1

You own a LR parts recon business, and are keen to see it continue to flourish. You find that a potential customer on an advice forum full of other potential customers has asked about your business, and that someone has replied with details of your company from the public domain. You believe there's a minor error in these details.

Do you:
A) Calmly and politely set the record straight, thanking the poster for their interest?
B) Take tremendous offence and threaten non-specific litigation, taking the time to call into question the bladder control of the poster, and the legitimacy of the forum itself?
C) Turn to the Dark Side of the Force and strike down the Emperor?

Is this a poll? ;)

Where do I vote??

Would have made it a poll if I knew how... Anyway, we all know the right answer, don't we?

Ah well, I can't sit here all evening... OH MY GOD! - I left sausages cooking while I took a look here and they're hideously overcooked! This has been TOO much fun.

I heard a story once about a man who, on a teleshopping channel, called his own glassware product 'crap'. This is not the same, but the thought popped into my head, that's all.

Wasn't that Ratner the high street jeweller, his business did well after that, LOL.

Ok. Not wanting to get into a battle with LandRoverCity. I was curious just what they do to recondition there VCUs. Having bought a Freelander today with 111K on the clock. I'm going to be needing a VCU. Could LRC explain why I should choose there product over other well respected remanufactures of VCUs?
Thanks

There is another company that is famed for suing anyone that dares question their customer service (they don't see the irony in that).

They've started proceedings against several forums that I know of and numerous individuals.

The usual reaction is for a forum to delete any reference to the company and not allow any mention of them, positive or negative.

I am yet to come across a company that is prepared to sue for positive references.

They must have a seriously heavyweight legal team :)

If they're THAT good a legal team, I may be interesting in recruiting them to go with the other 20 litigation specialists that work for me :D
