Have you noticed in the Commonly Asked Question bit on their egay adverts that it doesn't actually say that the car will be returned to its owner.

Some interesting updates…

Titan holdings Limited changed their registered address twice last year.

03 April 2020
From 35 Firs Avenue London N11 3NE to Unit 1-6 Sunbeam Street Wolverhampton WV2 4PF

22 December 2020
From Unit 1-6 Sunbeam Street Wolverhampton WV2 4PF to 16 Sunbeam Street Wolverhampton WV2 4PF

Titan holdings limited is listed as '45112 - Sale of used cars and light motor vehicles'

So they're now located at the same address as the famous [insert one of many company names] suspicious engine reconditioning company this fred is mainly about.

The director is currectly:
Gurpreet virdee DOB september 1981
1 Finchfield Gardens, Wolverhampton, England, WV3 9LT

Appointed on 11 March 2020.

His colleague Amitpal Singh Verdee was appointed on 19 March 2020 and resigned from the company earlier this year on 01 Febryary 2021.

VIRDEE, Amitpal Singh - DOB August 1984

I wonder if a year of sharing an office was too much.

Reeven Autos Ltd
Company number 12013084
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12013084
Nature of business = Retail trade of motor vehicle parts and accessories

NAR, Makhan Paul - DOB May 1982
Correspondence address - Unit 1a Sunbeam Studios, Sunbeam Street, Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, WV2 4PF

Incorporated May 2019. So another company only just opened. Their conformation statement is late. They may get struck oft for that if they don't sort themselves out.

Mr NAR has 3 companies. One connected to cars and the other not. Don't think it's connected to the scum bags.

Since putting up the above there's been a number of changes.

NAR, Makhan Paul - DOB May 1982
Resigned on 27 august 2020

Sukhwinder singh DOB March 1970
Was appointed on 27 August 2020.

A lot happening that day on Sunbeam street.

Reeven Autos limit is still an active company but got into trouble on 27 November 2020 with a formal warning it would be struck off unless correct action was taken as required. This would normally end with a company being dissolved but they put in a suspension request on 22 December 2020.

Reeven autos limited is still an active company, listed as: '45320 - Retail trade of motor vehicle parts and accessories'

Still at the same address:

Unit 1a Sunbeam Studios, Sunbeam Street, Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, WV2 4PF

That address has had a lot to do with the motor trade. Some of the companies moved from it to 16 Sunbeam Street where suspicious engine reconditioning takes place.

The vat number 357305302 tests ok. It's linked to Elite Engineering Group Limited at the address 199 Newhampton Road East, Wolverhampton, England, WV1 4BB

So what we have here is a new company which has had a number of different directors. Started on 21 August 2020 and claims to repair, fit and sell reconditioned engines, if the content of their ebay adverts is correct.

Their ebay account is not new. First opened in 2010.

They don't have any direct links to Sunbeam Street or the dodgy reconditioners this fred is about. There are some similarities:

  • An address in Wolverhampton is used. The address is a house, not an industrial address. It is not the same address of any other company previously discussed on this ere fred.
  • They use the same book keeper or accountant who lives at the same address as previous companies linked to the dodgy engine reconditionners.
  • Their ebay advert text follows the same pattern as that of the dodgy engine reconditionners.
  • Ebay user account has no feedback related to cars, engines or vehicle repairs. Previous history/feedback has nothing to do with any of these. Same for previous reconditiionners discussed on this ere fred.
  • August 2020 is a busy month for motor trade companies with an address in wolverhampton. When one looks to be starting to end… and another opens.

I fear you have done more that either the Police or Trading Standards. Its obvious they are avoiding tax and any number of other regs by constant name changes. Wouldn't surprise me if one or more directors are barred from running companies, anther reason to keep changing. Makes it very hard to associate any specific individual with any specific breach of regs. When I worked in enforcement our strategy was to put large locks and chains on and see who turned up on the basis that regardless of the paperwork this was the person who actually ran it.

199 Newhampton Road East, Wolverhampton, England, WV1 4BB - it is student house
Last week I agreed £2500 finally payment - still overcharged .
I collect my Van but after 20 min drive engine overheating - they send mechanic on M6 and van back to the garage , now they still fixing - I don't know how long will take this time. it is paid and no VAN

Not the sort of thing you would expect to happen when dealing with a leading specialist with over 70 years combined experience in reconditioning engines.

Unfortunately many others have reported the same happening. Price goes up once they have the vehicle. Owner blackmailed or they don't get it back. If they do get it they find the quality of work done is cr*p. I wonder if it had the same engine fitted.

Log everything that happens and record evidence. Report to Trading Standards when you get it back. Ask for a vat receipt anorl so you can claim back the vat.

Bastids.

Apologies to thread high-jack especially as a new poster, although long time follower when I had a Series II Lightweight.

I found this thread after googling the current eBay advert of this lovely company and saved myself a lot of pain it would seem. Sorry to those who have not been as fortunate.

Anyway our Disco 3 TDV6 decided to have a cambelt failure on the M25 on Saturday one quote I have is £15-18k, but then I have found this place https://www.rangeroverenginespecialists.co.uk/ and wondered if anyone has heard anything good or bad about them. If we could get another 12 months out of the car I would be happy, ideally want to keep it longer but not at the cost of a decent used Disco 4.

Ring them up and if the person answering the phone as a foreign accent, hang up.

Col

Lol. Sadly if life was only as easy as that. Sadly people that have tried a fast one in the past on other things were white British so foreign accents are not necessary to being a scumbag.

The lady that rang back was very professional, offered for me to go and see the engine rebuilding workshop before commiting. Offered the Companies House registration number to check up on them and that the director had been the same for x number of years (think it was nine). No payment until completion and collection of vehicle.

It's a bit strange that she offered the company registration number and made mention of number of years service of the director. The scoundrels in the Sunbeam Street company also say payment on collection but they keep jacking the price up after the initial quote. Has this company given you a quote?

She offered them after I said I needed to ask a blunt question and mentioned the Birmingham lot. Quote is £3k, I have no illusions this is probably at the low end of the market and I can't expect the quality of a brand new unit from Land Rover, but that is reflected in the price. As it is I have a D3 HSE with 110k on it and all servicing done to date as required. Like I said if I am lucky to get 12 months on it then that's great.

It has been known for peeps in the past to post up details of suspect engine reconditionners on the web, after spending time on companies house hunting them down. Wouldn't surprise me if they have been asked about their honesty before. Lets not condemn them until there's evidence they're dodgy. They could be ok. Whats the companies house number? Did they supply a vat number anorl?

I spose you pays yer money and takes yer chance. There hasn't been anything negative about them reported on here. I did notice their customer reviews where quite recent and not many of them but that may mean nothing. Good luck whatever you decide to do. If you use them and they turn out to be good, give them a referral on here, if they turn out to be crooks, warn us on here. One thing you could do is ring up trading standards and ask if they have had any complaints.

Col

Yep, you take your chances with anything in life especially used vehicles. We were having the debate about getting a new one, but could be buying into the same issue again weeks/months later. I will get some more details tomorrow, post them up here for peoples interest and if no-one notices any red flags and I can't see anything obvious either we will most likely go ahead. Never had this problem with the LW lol. Well nothing a small mallet couldn't fix :D
