Hi. I have the p1470 error and limp mode sometimes without any light on dashboard. I read that should be the fuel pump. When I turn on the ignition, before turning on the engine, I don't hear at all the pump from the fuel tank, but the outside one keep sounding for about a minute. Which of them should I replace? Thanks.
 
The one in the offside rear arch. Replace with a genuine or Bosch part, cheapo one will be noisy and last 2.3 minutes, if you're lucky ;)
 
2006. I have the filter already,. I just had not time to change it. The one in the fuel tank shouldn't make a noise? And thanks for replying
 
I'm pretty sure on a 2006 there isn't a pump in the tank, its in the wheel arch, assuming its a TD4.
 
I found a bosch one at eurocarparts for 120£. Actually is 172, but with 30%off weekend is 120. There are a lot of cheap ones on eBay from 20 to 50£, but I don't really trust them. At eurocarparts they have a haas one listed at 100£. With discount it would be 70. Which one is better?
 
And pierburg 5€ cheaper than bosch. I don't wanna waste the money on most expensive one, but if it worths, I do it.
 
P1470 turbo boost error worth checking turbo hoses and all you vac hoses and the little filter that hangers down behind engine that is only connected one end. . Had that error myself. Search for p1470 on here will give you some ideas
 
I have just changed the fuel pump and filter. It pulls better, but still limp mode if I go in 4th gear at 4000 rpm, then I change 5th, it won't pull at all. And if I accelerate smoothly in 5th, sometimes at 80mph, sometimes at 90 or 100will start to slow down. When I turn on the ignition, I can hear like a pressure leak under the bonnet, near the injection pump.

4K, and 100 miles per hour, wow. Not something I do much of in my hippo. Isn't the top speed somewhere around that mark?
 
Maybe. I would not mind if it would reach onlu that speed, but sometimes it enters limp mode uphil at 70-80mph, or less.
 
The TD4 maximum speed is 96 according to LR.
MIL lit at speed can be low fuel pressure on the electric fuel pump. You need to look at the live data for it. It should be over 350Kpa with the engine running flat out.
 
Uphil it enters at lower speed. My icarsoft has a different unit of measures . I will check the values. The noise is really scarring me.
 
There is sometimes a buzzing or hissing sound near the injection pump. It's often the pressure regulator being modulated by the ECU.
Does it start OK?
