(I see he found my list of Tech Bulletins I saved from Topix a while ago and stored on my xhost site....hee hee :D:D:D:D:D )

I am not sure, but if the replacement s/h ecu is from the same model (i.e. Petrol or Diesel, same year etc) the only thing is should need is the ride heights calibrating....the EAS ECU knows nothing else other than it is an EAS ECU and it has to open and close valves and tell the compressor relay to turn on or off....then tell the ABS ECU what the current ride heights are etc.....it stores no other vehicle information like security codes, mileage, VIN etc as far as I know.

Unlike the LCM or IKE which is very much vehicle specific.

I stand ready to be corrected though!

I was going to be nice and try something similar but didn't have a recent enough VIN available :(

I found that, thank you and forwarded on. Scott's worked through it again and still can't find fault. New old stock ECU on order. £250. o_O

Cheers, fella. This really is a very helpful forum.

Just took a call from young Scott who's been working way late. Ronnie is sorted once more. I pick him up Sunday. Which is good as I've missed the bugger

Right bit of a tale of woe this one. Turns out the problem with the LHR sensor was a duff sensor, this was replaced with a new sensor which still wasn't working. Turned out this new sensor was also duff. When I say duff, it was for the wrong side the other side rear. It took Scott a wee while to figure this out but once that was replaced with the correct sided part, it was working as expected. Right part ordered, wrong part arrived in the right box.

Not out of the woods yet, as there was still canbus faults even after that and the new old EAS ECU/ECM had arrived and was fitted, briefly. Fault was then finally found in the wiring loom in the front footwells and repaired. This pleased Ronnie and he is now fixed.

Scott also gave him an oil change too as requested as that was due.

EAS ECU/ECM being returned for refund and Scott's gonna speak to the AA tomorrow and update them on the repairs and make a claim for the costs involved.

No-one said it would be easy. But the Ronster is running perfectly once more. Bloody well done Scott.

Good to hear Ronnie is well again
So do we get the name of the garage where the magjcal Scott works? Or are you keeping him to yourself?

Not read your entire thread but I know certain years and with or without xenon headlamps have different height sensors. Some of the older part numbers for the sensors have been superseded by part numbers for sensors that fit either side but I don’t think they do in all cases. One of the front and one of the rear sensors are specific to xenon headlamps and can’t be used on both sides although I am still not sure if it applies to later xenon headlamp vehicles that no longer have the self levelling headlights. I have a rear sensor fault that won’t clear after my old one broke and I have tried two cheapies but neither work. I have a genuine sensor arriving tomorrow to see if it cures it.

Cheers for that. Ronnie is equipped with xenon lamps and good they're too. The issue was a feck up by Bearmach, wrong side sensor in the right box. Fault was fixed with wiring repair and genuine LHR sensor. Hope your's is sorted with the same. Based on this cheap sensors are a false economy.

Garage phoned today to sort out paying the £35 excess I was owe, the AA picked up the tab for the rest. £500.

I also reset the service indicator 13,750 miles and gave the battery a charge on our 20amp charger to see if I could get rid of the HDC bong Ronnie does on start up? First start was fine when I moved it to give it an annual hoover and wash of the rubber floor mats. HDC bong returned thereafter even though the battery is reading 13v. 14.5v when running.

I've noticed the led remains on next to the low range selector even when the car is off and locked. o_O

Give it 30 mins...if it is still on, something is preventing the car from sleeping...

Well the genuine height sensor at £120 looked identical to the amazon £15 height sensor and that didn’t work either. Fault wouldn’t clear with Allcomms until I did a battery disconnect and then the fault changed to canbus error that won’t clear.
Next is to try and disconnect head lights as can’t connect to LCM with Allcomms but can with faultmate . Strange thing is fault mate says no faults stored in EAS. I also have my EAS compressor in bits to see if that is the problem as pressure wouldn’t go above 6 bar but maybe tripping out early
These are such fun

So this is what has been keeping you so quiet. Nice to see you back forna while :D

Howdo GR, i have my fingers in many pies currently ;), the range is just one of them. I have neglected the turd shed on wheels both from a time and finances point of view and although I got away with it for a while the neglect is starting to cost me now.

Stand by for an update - i may as well hijack this thread as the OP has finished with it and i can pretend to have some friends :)

Just to update my hijack , I rebuilt the compressor with new head, piston ring and dryer kit which seems to have worked. All faults have cleared now from EAS but still can’t connect to LCM, but I will..
