Hi, L322, Irish 06plate vogue diesel td6engine, 5spead auto box, my promlem(at least with the land rover) is, drove about 18 miles, never missed a beat, would not start, took a pipe of fuel filter, no deasel, replaced pump in the tank (had new one), then a dribble coming at filter, secondary pump not working, as can't get one for a few day's - fitted a high flow rate pump, lots of fuel coming up, point is, do I have to wait on the proper pump, or do I have another fault as still won't offer. Spinning up to speed fine, check brake pads warning started to come on when started yesterday, can understand if it was low oil pressure, not letting it start, any idea's

The high flow pump might give fast flow, but not be the right pressure....diagnostics should show the supply pump pressure...should be over 3 bar I think!...

You should have 3.5 - 4 bar on the low pressure side with just the ignition on
The low pressure pump should be putting out 350kpa which would be readable if you were to somehow connect a gauge but the idle fuel pressure of 28000kpa at the fuel rail is nearly impossible to read..

The most common non start issues on the TD6 is firstly injector leak off problems and secondly O ring failure on the Fuel Pressure Regulator it thats assuming both your low pressure pump and high pressure engine driven pump are producing sufficient pressure You need a diagnostic iCarsoft 930 or the like for live data readings such as fuel pressures but there are others that will do the same. Might defo be worth changing the rubber O ring and the plastic support ring on the regulator..
