Hi!

I am new to range rovers, having just bought my First 03 4.4 L322.

Drove up In the mountains yesterday with the engine being stable and warm, but the heater blowing icecold. I tried bleeding the system and got some air out. Seems to be enough coolant.

The car blows lukewarm at startup, but when the car is hot the heater blows cold again. As said, no overheating etc.

Thermostat? Air valve? What to do? Bought the car for skitrips, but will freeze to deathif this continius.

:search::welcome2:

Do like the rest of us, let the butler sort it:cool:

Felt on the radiatorhoses now. Top one is warm, the one In on the thermostat is cold. Thermostat stuck open?

Take a look at the heater control valve, mounted on the N/S inner wing (In the engine compartment) has three(maybe four) pipes an electrical plug and has two round pots on the top, one for each temp control in the cabin, check pipes for heat in/out power to the connection, known to fail, well mine did worth a look?

not that bad atleast its got heated f&r seats & heated steering wheel:D,windows mirrors etc:D oh & check nobody has bypassed the heatermatrix due to leakage:eek:

Trust me, after 1,5 hours in the car without heat in -15 C, heated seats and steering wheel is not sufficient.

THought of the valves, but reckon there would be heat at least somewhere in the car or the fans. In mine its just freezing cold everywhere.

Temp. gauge stays dead in the middle, where its supposed to be!

In the middle
This may sound daft but look at the centre fan . Below it is a turmy thing has it got blue dots or red ones, someone help me.........

Anyway if it has blue ones you have wasted 5 mins of my life that, all be £0.62p please

Oh and :search:

Could someone elaborate on the Blend Flap-problem?

Its not the wheel under the fans. Have had BMWs for ages, so know that crappy deal from other unfortunate experiences:p

No heat what so ever. Or. It was -15 outside, and I think the heater was blowing at +6 to +8 degrees.

I felt the hoses to the water valves in the engine (on the drivers side, LHD). The were also not warm.

Heater matrix, my P38 had similar issues, I asked coz if you had heat in back it would be hedgehog issues.

-15? Whereabouts are you........ Russia.

Go to Halfords and get a 12v unit for now

What is the Heater Matrix? Is it the valve thing in the engine room on the drivers side (LHD).

Btw, I`m in norway. Been up in the mountain skiing. Which is why I bought the car in the first place. But will be to no use if I`m freezing to death in the car instead :p

The heater matrix is the radiator type item that the air flows over and gets heated via coolant!

Only real way to check it would be to feel it....trouble is it is buried within the heater box , which in turn is buried in the centre of the dash behind all the electrickery.

You may be able to feel the pipes going into the heater matrix as the pass through the firewall right behind the engine....if they are both warm that should indicate hot coolant is passing through the heater matrix...if one is hot and the other cold it could indicate a block matrix or an air lock within it!
