Hi, I've just returned to the fold with a 2006 RR sport and we love it. Unfortunately it has got a leak in the boot and I've (hopefully) tracked it down to the rubber seal that goes all around the tailgate - it lets in water on the top corner and that tracks down into the boot. In the RR manual it's called a liftgate weatherstrip. So am trying to find a new one. There seems to be a load of door seals etc. for sale but none for the boot. Should I be looking for a specifically named part or is there a RR part number to search on? Was wanting a new one but will try second hand off ebay if needed. Who in the UK would you recommend for parts?

Any help appreciated - wife not too happy about this!

On the P38, bending the flange out a few millimetres that the seal mounts on fixes the problem. A smear of silicone grease on the rubber helps too.
All range rovers come with leaks as standard and at no extra cost:rolleyes:

............ No that's what I was going to do, but the wife stopped me. I said experts had advised me to do that, but no go. So I put a bit of clear silicone in the rubber and am waiting for the rain. See how that goes.

Update - it has now been in our wonderful wet weather and no water in the boot. So thanks for the advice, now having bent the flange and stuck the silicone in. I am a little surprised as this is the first RR (out of 4) I've had where the cheapest possible fix worked! Just waiting for the next exciting problem to arise.
