Howdoo all, after 2 weeks of up and down the M4 back n for to my work site, my disco has devleoped a bearing knockintpye noise fromt eh front right hand side, its go progreeivley louder, ive stopped using it until i get it sorted, its been down the local garage, but its been there a week and nothings beeen done to her, so i got it back tonight, i live in swansea if anyone knows of a decent landy garage down my way, any ideas on the noise?

Bit more info might be helpful. Front or rear of the vehicle? Is it in the engine, or in an axle, etc.? Constant or intermittent? Are you sure it is a bearing, not just shock rubbers gone or one of the usual suspects. Have you checked and greased propshafts?

From the front drivers side, ive checked underneath rubeers and prop joints i cant see anything that would show lots of wear.

Have you tried just bouncing it up and down, and givin the shocks and bushes a wiggle with a small crowbar? And lying under the front while someone else wobbles the steering with the brake on?

Had on a. Ramp with chocs up, cant. Find anything lose, is there a cv joint on them?

300 tdi p reg 90k on the clock

As far as I know, that has what I would call a driveshaft UJ, as opposed to a CV joint. I have never owned that model, quite happy if others know better?

I think that would be a very low mileage for that to fail, as well.
