If I change my key fob case due to being badly worn will I still need to reprogramme the fob after as its picking up the signal but because the buttons are worn 50-60% of the time it wont respond due to naft buttons. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

No programming, but may have to re synchronize the fob if u remove the battery by pressing the lock button four times, according to the owners handbook

No programming required. Just take the whole gubbins out, leave the battery connected and put it all in the new case. - 5 mins tops.

Just ordered a new case so when it arrives il take the guts out of mine then fit them in the new case then re sync the fob. Is that correct?

You won't need to re-sync your fob if you leave the fob battery connected and in place. The circuit board with the battery attached just lifts out of your old case and into the new one.

Ah even better then. I s0oke to somebody at fosstec and he tried charging me £50 to reprogramme a fob due to him saying its need s reprogrammibg or it wouldnt work lol. Happy days just need to wait for my new fob to arrive.

As far as i am aware, re syncing is a 2 min job. The receiver never actually forgets the job coding, it just needs to re learn the ID code for the fob, which is done by pressing the buttons in a set way.

£50 - rip off

£5 - complimentary at best

Na thats what I thought. Hopefully il get the fob out the way then find a decent set of extended brake lines and a new pair of 2" rear springs then happy days. Off to the plains I think lol

Re: new key fob case. Just to mention that I have just bought a new fob, for £9.67 (incl £3.99 shipping) from Chequers Motor Store Ltd on Amazon.
The fob comes with blank key which I discarded and fitted original electronics and key part in new fob.
Pressed key on drivers side of LR Disco 2 TD5, and sorted.
Really impressed, as Land Rover Agent wanted £168.00 for new fob and programming!!

Im hoping my fob will arrive today or tomorrow then I can touch wood fix mine at last. Anybody got any cheap extended brake lines for sale?

Wahay new key fob just arrived so il hopefully get that working today. Just to check then if I take the motherboard out with the battery still attached then I wont have to resync or anything just plug n go lol.

What the problem in pressing the lock button 4 times to"resync" ?
I'd thought it's an ideal time to also replace the battery as u have the case open.
