Even although there are two outputs which are connected somewhere in the circuit there could be a bad connection or high resistance between the interconnected points and the cyl 3 output.
My advice to people is always use original quality plugs, leads and coils as anything less is usually at least, not as good, and at worst pure garbage that leads you round in circles doing diagnostics.

I honestly went around in circles for about a month many years back chasing intermittent misfires with my petrol landy, I was using all brand new parts but aftermarket ones and kept having issues. I eventually grew suspicious and got original coils, leads and plugs from a scrap yard car and it ran perfect with them fitted. I left the scrappy parts in there and binned all the shiny new stuff which was 2 new coils, 2 pairs of leads and a set of eBay ngk plugs which turned out to be fake lol , all shiny new and none of it worked properly. Nowadays I even put top brand stuff in the old “beaters with heaters” that I drive.
 
The final improvement on the G4 follows the MOT by a really good guy. It passed no problem but he pointed out a band on the middle silencer that showed excessive heat.

Also, when the silencer was thumped it sounded a bit loose inside.

Suspect partial blockage.

Fitted new pipe today. Wow, what a different car. It pulls much better, is quieter, revs more freely and is a delight now.

That's bloody good service from someone who obviously knows their stuff.
 
He loves his cars, only does MOT so no motivation for work. Always does a free retest however long it takes. But then he is a dog lover so that maybe explains it !!

If he tells me it needs doing, it gets done. His shake test for bushes and suspension is better than I can do with a crowbar !!
 
Sounds like the sort of MOT place I used to use, but sadly it's no trading now.
Although I'm not a huge fan of those wheel shaking testers, as I'm sure they can damage bushes approaching the end of there lives, but maybe that's a good thing?
