Hello,

You know how people are prepared to pay a lot of money for a down pipe when retro-fitting a 200tdi disco engine into a deepender, what would be wrong with grinding the original down pipe down leaving a short piece (like a stub) and then simply using some of that flexible metal chimney / flue tubing to mate it to the through pipe? Would it work without causing any problems?

Cheers

Just Make You Own, Thats What We've Done And Got A Perfect Replica Of A Steve Parker Down Pipe That Cos £0 Instead Of £124

that would probbly work pos , but you'v got very little room to do anything ,they maybe expensive but i did'nt find a better solution to the problem , and i'v seen loads of attempts at fabricating summat to fit ...

I'm not going ahead just yet, but thats the only thing I was worried about, other than that it'd be fairly simple really and I'd favor the flexi pipe!

you aint got alot of room tho pos , remember it drops virtical from the turbo and then go'es around the starter .. and you still have to move the clutch hose .... i just found it simpler to get the down pipe as i only live about ten miles from parkers gaff ...

i'd be interested to see what you come up with tho...

Alright, if, and only if I go ahead, I'll put piccies up! Insurance will go up by 40% though!

40% .. fookin ell thats just mean ....did'nt make much difference with my insurance , i went with flux , the only thing was i had to have an engineers report done to make sure they were happy with it ... and ohhhh the paperwork was horrendous .....

yeah they wanted a garage to write a letter saying they had done it!!! Suppose they'd do that for me!

Christ..You Insurance Companys Want You To Do That....Mine Dont Care About It, Insurance Stays The Same And They Dont Want Proof Of How Or Who Did It,

mine was'nt just an engine change tho .. it was full up rebuild inc chassis , and they just wanted the m.o.t bloke to be completely happy with it .. lot of paperwork tho ..
