They are defo dropping in value, D4s now well under 10k, D2s are getting thin on the ground, cant remember last time I saw a D1 200 or 300 on the road or just in somone driveway.

As usual some people still think their D3 is worth more than a later D4! same as the last of the D2s were still being priced at 10k a year or so ago when D3 were cheaper.

Ur so right ref values of D3s where some think there worth we’ll over £10k for a 06 model

Still see a few going between £2-3 on eBay , then read down the listing and says , may need new mechatronic unit

Time to run for the hills, lol

Many moons ago I had the pleasure of test driving the lotus Carlton , Christ almighty that was quick, well back then it was, with it floored could see the fuel gauge drop , lol

Really comfortable and a really nice motor

Do u remember the granada coupe , had like a sloped rear window

I never owned a Cortina (nor any Ford)

I had a 1600cc hatch where the next model was a 2.2 16v, and a nice German saloon with a 2.0i engine and sod all weight, 2 engines up and there was a 3.6l turbo

Granada Coupe was nice looking - I also liked Monzas.

I liked the Russelheim GM cars and Rootes Group cars.

Ah yes the monza , forgot about those

My favourite coupe was one of these P5B , with the nice V8 , would have one now if I had the money as they were autos I believe

I bet there serious money now,

I know that theres one on the disco 3 forum at the mo for £9k!, its nice but not worth that much by a long shot

The nice D2's on autotrader with less than 100k are about £5k currently but thats at dealers with no mention on chassis condition so you could get there to find its a rot box

Loads by me still living in the peaks, most are off road / bob tailed :)mad:) / green lane specials dont see many standard ones but slowly been overtaken by isuzu D-Max's where all the farmers, farmers wife's and farmers dogs seem to have em, fair few troopers round too

Bit before my time sadly but nice motors

There's a silver, manual, looks like SE spec 2005 D3 on a forecourt by me (willenhall) for £6.5k. I had a quick look round it the other day, looks ok, steering wheels a bit tatty. MOT history was usual stuff, nothing scary. Tyres mismatched front to back but same across the axles and all same size.

It's worth about £5k in reality I think but if someone got a good chunk off the sticker price with cash and a bit of warranty it'd be ok I think

Must have some miles on it to have a tatty steering wheel?
Mines on 134k and if you grip the top of the wheel tightly you can just feel the rubber/leather is coming away from the inside metal frame, but outside looks and feels fine.

Yes I see the 9k one, the replies were being very polite but essentially said what you are saying, its to bloody dear!
If he tries and trades it in he will get a rude awakening.

Where I work theres approx 1k people over three shifts, a few 4x4s but not many, 3 maybe 4 D3s 1 x D4 and a couple of L322 r/r, some jap pick ups but again less than a handful.

I didn't get the keys and can't remember mileage off MOT lol interior looked generally pretty good, I think they tend to wear well.

This is mine, 156000miles, not bad at all. Similar to yours as you describe when you grip it. Gearstick gaiter and gearknob are worn more. I picked all the crud out of the numbers on the gearknob, nasty!

Looks better when it's clean lol but it's ok in here

Change that gaiter you tight bar steward:D

We get the crud on the trucks steering wheels so much so that when you use the palm of your hand to whizz the wheel around theres balls of black snot stuck to your hand!

Lidl or Aldi elcheapo baby wipes are good for cleaning the steering wheels, just wipe them clean and leave to dry for a few hours.

Also adored my vitesse , engine space was awesome

Hi buddy

My sold steering also

I got some seat cover from mine , did upgrade my front seats to electric, still in the same colour cloth as I didn’t see any point replacing the entire interior for leather

then retrofitted the D4 steering wheel and stalks

Here’s mine

Just an update to the disco I drove the other day, lad was trying to improve his mpg so as an IAM driver i suggested he try looking farther up the road to recognized opportunities to avoid wasting fuel braking and accelerating and thus wasting fuel which he tried and he gained 1 or 2 mpg overall on his dash so then mentioned his shocks possibly past their best and tyre pressures he checked them and found pressures spot on at 33/36 so I suggested he try 36/42 (well it works on jap motorbikes) and apparently this little increase has transformed the ride making it feel sharper that previous so I guess from that we can conclude that the shocks are getting a bit baggy if a few extra psi over norm, makes it feel better to drive

As a heads up on value iv just gone threw this with the insurance company an 05/06 D3 hse spec low miles and full dealer service history was booked at £5350. Any one who pays more than book or what an insurance company will give you in the event of a write off is mad

They're only £12 ain't they :oops::D

Wooh there boy 12 whole quid I think we need to discuss this serious financial outlay:D
I fitted some generic cheapie leather one to my D2 and it looked damned good for the money, mind you it was a few years ago now so what was cheap back then is probably bloody dear now!

Dave, out of interest what was the mileage on the car?
Have you looked to see if you can source a same spec car for the same money/miles?
