Of course.
But I do stand by the fact that I've never done anything illegal and all I, and most people are, is enthusiastic and wanting experience. I can't see any harm in that. I'm never close enough to run into someone and I make sure of that. Do you not think that my car means as much to me as yours do to you?

You dont need to be near anybody to have a accident so if you rolled your landy and killed a passenger on a pay n play how do you think it would stand in the laws eye ? with no license / insurance

And can you not see by driving with no insurance / license is advertising that is easy for the idiots to become more involved therfore spoiling something already tarnished with a bad reputation. ie off roading / green laining.

I see where your stance comes from but I disagree with your solution. What I think should happen is that you have someone in charge who makes a assesses you the first time you go to a site and then either writes down your number plate and invites you in or sends you on your way home.

That doesnt answer the question though does it now.

I believe younger folk should be able to drive to gain experience ect but i dont think p&p's are the right venue, i dont do em meself but if i did i wudnt want underage drivers around me, at the right venue with the right tuition and guidence it can only be a good thing?

Well I'll take the first bit as a compliment. I don't have a problem with any of you guys on here that are reasonable, especially you as you seem to be bringing some thought back into this. I seem to remember having a conversation with johnlad about holymoorside and it made no difference how old I was then. What I have the problem with is people who are trying to simply exclude enthusiastic people who want to learn. That's why I joined this site and that is why I read through people's like your posts. Things are not always black and white and that is the problem with banning people. You don't just affect the idiots, you affect everybody.

Khaos, we're not trying to put you off learning or dampen your enthusiasm, and the fact that you are trying to be a safe and courteous driver can only be applauded. We are older and more experienced than you, and when you get older you will realise how little you knew or how small your driving skills are at your current age. Accidents can happen and happen very quickly so public pay and play days may be a legal minefield in this day and age of compensation culture. Surely the thing to do is prove yourself sensible and wait until you have passed your test then drive to your hearts content or find some truly private land with no members of the public on it.

Gratch, It's nice to be pointed in the right direction and I'm glad you see that I am not just a hooligan. I do know that I don't know much at the moment but I probably should have added that I always have a very experienced driver with me. It's always helpful to have someone looking behind you when your trying to focus in front too.

If you wanna learn then go along as a passenger watch the experienced guys / gals out there your always welcome to come along as gate closer / passenger on some of the local laning runs but your leaving yourself wide open by doing what your doing now.

The problem is that if you were suddenly not allowed to participate anymore after doing it for a while, you would find that annoying in the same way I would. I fitted a cb radio this evening and I was thinking of testing it out on a laning trip. My grandad drive on the places I can't so I would be a passenger. Ironically he's in charge of safety for loads of big companies.

I agree it would be annoying and frustrating, but maybe there is a good reason for rules and regs changing.

Hes not above the law though pal, look just bide your time and watch and learn i know its hard when your eager but when your older you'll understand what we mean, and if you wanna do laning trips then stick your name down offering to go as a passenger / map reader / gate closer / brew slave. Dont get disheartened by tonights thread, go away and think about things and consider what might happen if you did hurt someone, its not a nice thought.

WOW, You ever opened your mouth and later thought OH S***.
Just to clarify, I'm 40 something, have no idea why I have junior member under the name of me Landy, thought it was a quirk of the site cause not been a member long.
I,ve Never done any p*p or any desent off roading. I would however expect it to be common practice to have all the relevant documentation for whatever type of driving I wanted to do.

The question was are there any events for junior drivers

But Thanks for all the responses, I have never had such a response from any thread that I've posted on any forum. well chuffed.:D
I would not let any young driver hoon around with disregard for life, limb or other site users.
Cheers.
