theres a big o ring seals the pick up tube ,it will be knackered
they use a rubber o ring but youll make something
oring supposed to fit over pipe an a steel washer squashes it when you tigthen nut ,no reason why you cant fit a suitable oring in first for pipe to push against
Nice cutting, what are you using to get it ?
Just a 4" grinder with slitting disc ?

now ive found the resto thread ill give it an ickle update
ive finally given up on the original engine as im just sick of throwing money at it and getting nowhere so thanks to GRATCH i now have a 12j engine to put in the bugger but first there were a few things in the way
first was the battery tray and air filter stand wich i carefully whipped out with the grinder ( and chopped through one of the brake lines in the process :doh: )
then moved it to the seatbox on the passengers side
first find some metal to make a box with ( sourced from the loft this time )

then cut the shape out

after a bit of bending welding hammering and a slap with the chassis paint i got this

i then chopped the seatbox open and dropped the bugger in rivveted it and ended up with this

half hour later a bit of swearing drilling and yanking on damn thick wires its in and functional

4" grinder with a 1mm cutting disc and no guard fitted
oh thats great bud,thanks for letting me know,now i can stop wasting my time looking for an engine then hey.
