I would paint the floor.
I'm not sure about the stainless thresh, the pictures on the YRM site are too shiny to see what's what. I think I'll email them when I get around to putting it on.

Got the thresh on, took a while to work out though.

I may paint the floor with stonechip, you reckon I need to etch primer it first?

Also got the door on with my nicely painted hinges. Anyone want to give me tips on how to line the door up? it drops too much away from the hinge.

Was supposed to be working tonight, but that was cancelled so managed to get quite a bit more done.

Exhaust is mostly ok now, I bent the bracket and it sits in a better position now. I will reinvestigate this before Morocco, but it will do.

Got one of the spats on, but lost my patience with the plastic rivets, so it will be properly riveted on it at least a couple of places, but I broke my riveter.

Got the door to mostly hang properly, it catches on the thresh slightly, but not enough to particularly bother me. Also got the lock on.

So tomorrow I will sort out the dual tank switch, then hopefully thurs do some finishing off jobs, then virtually done :)

Great picture - very clear. I'll try and get under the tarp and try my thresh on like that.

I know very little about painting, but I would etch primer first. Some paints, like Rustoleum, don't need it. It might say on the stonechip tin what prep it needs.

Great work, mate. Well done.

Thanks. Had a headache so didn't get anything done last night other than shortening the brake vacuum pipe because it was compressing (I specifically bought vacuum pipe too) and fitting the steering column bracket bolts that I keep forgetting about.

Speaking of shiny, that boot floor looks very shiny so it might be hard to get paint to stick to it. Etch, or maybe a rub down with a fine abrasive first?

Yeah, I will probably etch primer it first. Not sure whether there will be much benefit in painting it as I am planning on using some cattle bed liner in the back as it is free!

down t' bnq and get some special metals primer 7.99 / 750ml.

good reports and good results ive seen from it.

watery pish thin though - will brush it on next time as it went through the sprayer like no ones business.

I found the autotek etch primer spray cans on ebay to actually be pretty good, just ordered 2 cans for £10. They went on loads better than the upol stuff I also used.

Was still ill yesterday so no more progress, but have been given permission to have the whole weekend getting it finished :)

I've been using to autotek stuff from eBay too. Seems to do a good job.

Sooooo close!

Managed a test drive in it today around the private road. It showed up quite a few improvements that I need to make...

- The steering wheel is a lot off centre, like 90 degrees, I'm sure it wasn't so not sure what happened!
- The tracking is out by a long way too
- I hate the exhaust. It sounds like a boy racer...so if anyone wants a cheapish new terrafirma stainless steel TD5 straight though pipe PM me

I got quite a few things done; got my dual tank wiring finished, so I have one switch to switch tanks and one to switch which tank the gauge reports on.

I also made some inner wheel arches. Some of them were a pain and I fitted the passenger side one upside down!

Quite pleased with them :)

Also fitted my new spacers which look pretty badass. I did however notice that there is some play in the drivers side front, I guess I didn't tighten the bearings up enough?
