Only cus you want a running V8 ;)
I do but it’s going to get out of hand too fast as I’d be doing a MS top hat build and it would get daft. I’ve just picked up a 3 door commercial that I’m absolutely chuffed with too!! I’m going to use it as my general snotter vehicle and try and look after my pickup a bit better!!! Atleast that’s the man maths

So when are we having the giant meet up at broke agains discos. Everyone donate a tool from their toolbox and a bottle and the winner who gets it started wins the lot
Pretty sure I made you an offer similar to that, I said you could have the auto for free if you fixed the manual one.

You needed AAB to do an apprenticeship.
You got AAC.
Why the heck not revise, even have a few private lessons and take the A level again? Surely you could get a better grade and then get on the course?
I had to take an extra A level at night school to jockey me into uni. (On top of a full time job, a girlfriend in Exeter and another in Bath.)
I managed it so I am sure you could.

Because Id have had to re-apply for the apprenticeship, with zero guarantee Id get it the second time around. Also, there was no guarantee of a propper exam the next year, so it could easilly have been an absolute waste. Furthermore, most of my mates were off to uni, and I couldnt wait to be done with school, let alone the fact that I was actually expelled on the results day (by the now-convicted pedo). The price of going to a slightly less prestigious uni seemed like a small price to pay compared to re-sitting the year and getting into a "better" uni.
If I could turn back time, would I suck up to the teachers more, and do as I was told, to get better grades at A-Level? Of course. Would I have put the uni I ended up going to as a first choice, so that I didnt go through clearing and get the hellish flatmates (and their associates) I did? Of course. Would doing either of those things have guaranteed my success? Nope. Would they have helped? Without question.
There arent any lessons to be learnt by going over my career path for the last few years, other than perhaps "not all battles are worth fighting" - but I suppose Im just the wrong combination of young, dumb, hard-headed and probably more than a sprinkling of arrogance to back down. Can I look back over those same few years at all the metaphoric battles I did fight and am better for? You bet.

You did indeed mate I just don’t see how I’d be able to get it booted up if mechanic couldn’t. I don’t have the space yet either annoyingly.
Thibk you’ll scrap them both then?

Interesting, how did you do that without a degree? Forgive my ignorance, is it a modern-day re-labeling of something else (Like plumbers are now sometimes called heating engineers, etc)
I build/maintain servers with software like email servers, web servers etc etc. I guess years ago i would have been labelled a web/host/post master.. i look after domain names so you don't need to remember IP addresses
How did i do it without a degree? Patience and hard work, lots of research and following all the online resources of the day.
I didn't even have a GCSE in 'computers'

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

Honestly unsure. Ive absolutely no use for them, but theyre not really in the way, nor are they costing me anything to have just sit there. On the other hand, I've no burning need for the cash immediately, although finding a way to spend it is never difficult, and Im pretty sure a grand in a savings account or index fund or whatever will go up more than some stagnant broken old cars.
My head tells me to let them go to the breaker, obviously. My heart says otherwise.
Sooner or later Ill decide Ive got more use for the money than the discos, and theyll go to whichever breaker wants them, unless someone on here fancies them now, with the intention of at least trying to recusitate it?

You didn't have to take the same board exam in the same exam centre. You could have done one somewhere completely different and with a different exam board. 2 of mine were with Ox and Cam, the other is with, dunno, London?
An A level is an A level.

Well, I suppose I could have waited a year, paid the exam board myself, and re-sat them. The norm is to do another year in school/collage.
The point that the exams could have been cancelled again still stands though, so it wasnt really a valid plan at the time, not that it had even crossed my mind when I first got the results. (it did after I dropped out of uni the first time, but covid was still a thing then, and Id only learn about half the spec, so I decided to work instead, then went to a different uni)

I did mine at night classes at Bath Tech while doing a full time job.
I started late so did the whole, normally two year course, in 6 months. two evenings a week so 4 hours per week.
But yep, covid sure didn't help.
