This sort of nonsense?

Thank you. That's exactly what im getting too.

Im guessing that their server is just stuffed, rather than theyve gone bust - if they had gone bust, then the server would (in the short term) still run.

Ill see if i cant ring through my order - im guessing it may be dispatched quick if all their other trade has vanished!

I found this thread also wondering if they'd gone bust - their payment processor is knackered. All the images on the page broken or missing, including where there should be logos to click on for what type of card you want to use.

You'd think they'd notice the sudden absence of orders...

EDIT: Looks like it's only broken for the Guest checkout - if you create an account then it works. So they're probably getting enough orders through not to realise that it's broken, but still losing all the business from people who can't be arsed to create an account. I only persevered because everywhere else with the part I need is either out of stock or £40 more expensive.

yep its a PIA they use happy shopper servers and thier web dev is clearly a div......site is a bit early 90's they use MYSQL which is pants and keeps falling, I expect the server they are using is just as old.

Such a shame, fast depatch and normally hold stock.

Its normally sorted in a day or 2 not much good if you got a rush job on I grant you.

Hi all - this is really interesting. Im wondering if anyone can advise about my current issue.

Island have been superb in the past, but I recently bought a bonnet catch that's faulty so I need to exchange it.

No problem.

But I just cannot get hold of Island.

I emailed them directly nearly 2 weeks ago about this, no reply. Ive tried multiple times over the last 3 days to call them, the phone just rings out. Ive mail from their site contact form - no reply. Their twitter page hasn't been updated since 2015.

Does anyone have any recommendation as to how I can get hold of them and simply exchange this faulty item?

Very very occasionally someone will answer the phone. Its way more difficult than it should be.

other than go bang on thier door sorry no.
However based on recent google reviews and of late i had decided to give them a swerve so thus are no longer on my suppliers list. Thier balance sheet for rtn'd accounts last FY says it all really....such a shame.

29 High Street, Blue Town, Sheerness, Kent ME12 1RN os thier registered address ( AKA accountants) but thier wharehouse is in maidstone

I have read it the past they are almost impossible to get hold of and to return parts. Shame as they seem to offer a good service via the website.

It is a shame, I don’t know of another LR seller in North Kent, but it’s been a ‘sign of the times’ for many years which is still is, that is ordering parts on line.

In Kent’s Medway City Estate there was a LR parts seller, that seemed to have most stuff, I purchased a brand new and complete top tailgate my RR £125 back then, to replace the rusty one before I sold the vehicle in 97… I forget their name now but a shame as they were LR people but they packed up and disappeared, so back to the main dealer, then later it seems Island started and incorporated in 2007 according to their accounts.

Island are still my go-to supplier.

Ive not ordered for, probably 3 months now, but ive never stopped ordering from them.

As i have said before, they are not always easy to get hold of, but they have never wronged me in all the years ive been buying stuff from them.

They drive me to distraction because they are only about 2 miles from me and won't allow me to collect anything!

I've often thought their site was broken when trying to navigate it :) I say that in jest, I do admire the guys there as I think they worked in parts for Dutton Forshaw which was our local Rover dealer and then started up on their own when it closed (at least that's what I heard but I'm sure there's more or perhaps less to it than that).

Either way, their site is up and running today, it seems to have had a revamp too so perhaps that explains why it was down? I'm going to have a browse around it later as it seems I need some parts for her ladyship's D4 so that's sort of convenient I guess.
