I have recently been offered a mazda 3.5 slt engine to put in my landrover 200tdi 130. After speaking to a couple of people i've been given conflicting opinions as to the outcome.
On one side i have been told the engine is great and my 200tdi gear box is fine and will pull like a train?
On the other side i am being told the gear box will not cope with the torque, it will continually jump out of gear and shred the gearbox and the parts for repair are like rockin horse poo?
Also would fitting an autobox be better or worse than a manual. I wanted to keep it manual, although having had automatic vehicles in the past i do prefer manual and am worried it wont be as good off road. To be fair it is a work vehicle and wont be used for testing green lane courses just carrying heavy loads off road.
Anyone who has any thoughts, views or experience will be much appreciated
