If it's a range rover chassis it will have been shortened in the middle you should see ware it's been welded.

Post some pics and you'll find what you have.

If it has it's a major chassis mod and so has to be re registered anyway

Well it can't be a real range as they didn't start till 1970
And a declared mfg is usually ex mil or import
