sorry nick, am just a bit workid up - right week at work and int seen me beloved for 2 weeks now coz the garrij i took it to fer MOT on the 15th (which i booked in on the 28Feb) can't get their fookin act together and find someone reliable to do a poxy days worth of welding - get this the guy initially spoke to whose job is...a welder... quoted me £200 for some chassis weldin then said it'd be a week before he could do it then once he'd started called me and said he couldn't be bothered (his actual words - i'd rather walk away!) so they sent it elsewhere who did it in half a day - what kinda fookin garrij is that - meantime here's me without me landy for the best part of a folkin month, and i need the folker to work with!!! but sorry for shoutin!:D

Got to post 80 so far............can't be arsed to read the rest...........I know LR aint been owned by England for ages.......I just think it's a shame that this country is going down hill.........we have no industry left. We make nothing and import everything! Funny how the Victorians made this country great and now with all our modern tech our life times greatest achievement will be just selling our country out!!!

Or the do nothing n expect everyone else to sort out the problem culture!! I used to think my Dad was mad when he used to ask us where something was made..........if it wasn't/isn't made in the UK he doesn't want it! Funny thou, as he comes from Italy. He came here over 40yrs ago with 50p in his pocket..........he was mugged as soon as he got here!! He lived in a shed on the Carnation flower nursery he worked in. He never ponsed off the council or government, he worked hard, ****ing hard! And now he owns a place (yep he's now paid off the mortgage) that's worth over a million £. He won't buy anything.........if he can help it, that's not made in the UK..........n that's getting very hard now! I admire him in a way....he supports this country more than anyone I know and he wasn't even born here! But he came over, made the UK his home and he's done his best to fly the flag. Shame the government dont do the same!!!:mad: :mad:
 
The dilemma being that Land Rovers are made in the UK, and will be for the foreseeable future,by a company owned by foreigners, and have been for over 10 years.
The bottom line is are Land Rover better off owned by Indians or Americans (I won't even think about Germans!)
I think the Indians have made less enemies.

Personally I feel that Britain has become stagnant...has been so for some time but my impression is that it's got worse. The possible injection of cash and boost of innovation from a country, economy and company that is developing, and not stagnant, should have a really positive effect.

Another question though. If TATA do make some changes to the Landy we know and love...how would you view them? Would you embrace them as change and evolution...or would you curse them for meddling??
 
i fear the worst tbh - since the 80s brittish manufacturing has been in decline and the underhanded, backhanders to and from various goverments is one of those things !!!! its the workforce i feel for as someone said earlier uless its a promis on paper its worth **** !! certainly various companies that have taken over the green oval have improved build quality etc but now im not so sure this will continue !!!!!

in a yoda style voice - dark days ahead for LR i feel !!!!!!!
